  • Good Friday morning!!

Well, payday has arrived (again!) and money has been moved around as necessary! Earlier in the week I sent on odd £2.40 to my old HSBC OD to leave the balance at -£100.00. This should be at zero next week when my 'house-sitting reimbursement' is received (hopefully with a bit over to treat OH and I to a meal out!!)

A small purchase has tracked at Q.co and the TCB cashback has tracked for the A.zon book purchase. Put the purchase on OH's TCB to get him closer to whatever the level is that I need him to reach so I get paid my referal money.

No more Q.co Opinion surveys. Boo! Still at 60p.

Heard from the energy Ombudsman.... the tone and content of the letter was not quite what I was expecting (really quite ar5y!) ... they have decided that they can only uphold the £200 offered by SE. I submitted over 20 pieces of documentation as part of my claim, and they said there wasn't sufficient proof of some of my points and as it was a verbal contract (and neither party has a copy of the contract signed at my house!!) it was my word against theirs. I could battle on, but apparently the maximum they can award is £250 and I have better things to do than battle for an extra £50. Form will be signed and returned today.

Still need to write back to the holiday people over the delayed flight compensation. That is going to be one hell of a battle!!

Right, that is it from me for now. I will be back when something interesting happens! xxx

Not everyones cup of tea... but I love them!! :O)

Not worried about the energy thing really.. more (what I think we are entitled to) would have been nice, but £200 can go along way! ;O)

  • Hello!

Well, it is my favourite day of the week again - even more so as this weekend is my weekend off... and I am actually not going to come into work! YAY!

Well, money has been moved around as necessary. My old OD is currently 50p in credit!! Paid my house-sitting pennies into it yesterday and then transferred the odd 50p over this morning which should more than cover any residual interest to be applied to the account! = happy Nat. Now to reduce the OD limit on it right down so I don't end up here again!

Have done another survey on Q.co - new balance £1.10!! This is going to be a long slog - not hard work though!

Need to get my thinking head on for imaginative, planned in advance, sourced at a decent price X.mas presents.

Right, must get on at work - or I will need to come in tomorrow, which as much as I would like the pennies for... I need the time off!

Have a great weekend all, Nats x

  • Ok, so I have a plan!! (as most of you will have realised by now, I love a good plan!!)

I need to save to be able to pay for OH's trip to Iceland in 2015 (Feb/March time). This plan starts in January 2014. I reckon that I need to aim for a minimum of £1000 in the pot at the end of 2014.

To make the maths easy, we will say that is £20 a week, every week next year.

Up until last Friday I was paying £20 a week into my old OD to clear it. It is now clear, so there is a spare £20 a week that I could use for the Iceland fund. But, part of me would like to only use £10 of this and keep the other £10 to help keep me from using the old OD again!

So, essentially I am £10 a week short. And so a challenge begins!! To somehow conjure up £10 a week to make up the shortfall. This will be done by....
    • All OT money going into the pot.
    • All cashback money into the pot.
    • All change left at the end of the week to be collected together, banked when there is enough and added to the pot.
    • Any other money that comes my way (house-sitting etc) going into the pot.
I am aware that there will be weeks where I will be running behind target - but I am hoping that with occasional larger lumps of money it will all even itself out! :)

So, there's my plan!! :T We will see how it all works out... be prepared for several amendments!!! ;)

  • Just thought ... can also transfer over any saving made on renewed direct debits (that will be car insurance and mobile phone). That could add up quite nicely!!
