Ah, the cheque! I had a 'secure message' from them on Friday afternoon (late) saying that the cheque had been logged to my account on the Friday, but funds are not going to be available until the 4th Feb!!! How long???? lol

Anyway, returned to poker last night after a 2 month break..... came second in the 2nd game, so that was a few pennies back in my pocket! Happy days!!

Have been coerced into going to a zumba class this Saturday. What have I let myself in for??

Morning All!

Just to let you know that as of this very moment in time all my bank accounts have a positive balance!! Although this is fantastic, it won't last long as I have to pay the CC next week! :O(

Oh, and Q.co has very kindly paid me £35.00 today!! YAY!!

Good (really rather bloomin' chilly) Friday morning all!

Well, my accounts are still in credit.

I have just had notification of the interest to be applied to my old OD later this month.... and...... it is going to be £1.90!!! So, in the space of about a month, I have reduced the interest on that account by £5.08, which is almost double the amount of credit interest I made on my 'savings' account last year! I love it when a plan works!!

Other than that, not a lot to report really! All the pennies are where they should be and my weekly payment has gone to OH! There's still the CC to tally up and pay, but as it's not due until the end of next week, I am going to carry on living in the land of positive bank balances for now!!

Need to think about OH's birthday (the 11th), Valentines Day (14th, obviously!!), my Mums birthday and my step-dads birthday! Soo many birthdays in such a short month!! Pah!!

Right, I am off to do some work!! Keep warm peeps! x

yay! it's amazing how little changes in mind set make such a major difference to our finances. If i've correctly calculated things you've just saved yourself 62% from your monthly interest. could be wrong though (or the calculator could be wrong).

Well, the snow is well and truely here! Have been out in OH's car (with him driving) but not looking forward to driving mine tomorrow! The main roads are ok, but the estate is an ice rink! At least I burned off some extra calories this morning clearing the drive and next doors path.

we've got it as well Nat, i swept off both mine and Mr LT's cars and he's cleared some paths and built a snowman (boys).
I need to make sure that i find a hat, scarf and gloves before tomorrow though but i think they may be in the dreaded boxes.

Made it off the estate and into work this morning! Main roads fine (if a little slushy in places), the estate however is a total different (frozen) kettle of fish! But, at least I am here!

Morning All!

Apologies, I have been a bit slack recently - plenty of reading of diaries going on, just not a lot of writing!

Well, as you are all aware, it is Friday again! I have checked my online banking and everything is where it should be. I have skimmed my current account to within a few pennies of £0.00 and moved it to my old OD. I have also transfered some surplus (I like that word) from the house account into the savings account. Thats building up nicely!!

I have been housesitting since last Friday, going home tomorrow, so hopefully there will be some 'living expenses' coming my way next week.

I need to tell you all about a telephone call I had last Friday evening - I had just popped home to get some bits together for house-sitting.....

Me "Hello?"
Caller "Ah hello, this is XXX calling from 'some charity research company' could I trouble you for a couple of minutes to answer 5 simple yes/no questions!"
Me "Go on then!" (thinking this could be fun!!)
Caller (after running through loads of data protection blurb) "Can I confirm you live at house number ** and your postcode is **** ***?"
Me "Yes"
Caller "Can I confirm you are Mrs. P"
Me "No."
Caller "You are not Mrs P?"
Me "No!"
Caller "Right - well how do I pronouce / what is your surname?"
Me "I cannot tell you that."
Caller "Why? You need to!"
Me "No I don't - you said that the answers would be yes or no, and my surname is neither - I shouldn't even be having this discussion with you!!"
Caller (after a long pause) "Oh...... ok, thankyou for your time, have a good evening!"
Me "yes!"

Silly caller - setting herself up like that! lol

Don't think there is much else to report for now - I'll be back if I remember anything!!
