    Hi All!

Well, its' the start of another week..... and I have £8.80 in my purse! Whoopie!! lol. But I have diesel in the car and a packet of rolling tobacco (yuck! although it does mean that I cut out my lunchtime fix today). So, other than a few small bits and pieces that will crop up I'm sure I shouldn't need any more pennies.

LT - I did know that there would be additional spends that I would need to contribute to, just didn't think about how much it would all come to. Anyway, it's all done now, so it' a case of moving on, or "one step beyond!!!"

Confession time - did not list a single thing on ebay over the weekend. Was out and about on Sat and then had a cracking headache which resulted in me back in bed for the best part of 4 hours in the late afternoon. And we were out for most of yesterday. Nevermind! It will get on there!

Hi Gals (and any Guys that may well be reading!)

Not a lot to report - in fact......... nothing at all!! Everything is in hand and under control - just waiting for Friday so I can make a payment to OH and amend my signature - scary to think that in 10 weeks (which to me doesn't sound that long at all) I would have repaid £1000! Wish I had managed to do this in the past!! lol Anyway, there is no point in thinking about what has been - just what will be!

And that's it from me for now!! Laters! x

that's an amazing amount to pay back in 10 weeks, won't take you long to tick through your debts now.

    Hi LT!!

It's good to know that there is a regular repayment to OH in place now - £1000 in 10 weeks sounds great, but looking at the standing order I have set up and seeing that it is in place for 169 weeks, not such a great feeling!! But, as they say, there is light at the end of the tunnel!

i just think of it this way Nat, every payment is one less to make! plus ok it's 169 weeks but what could it have been if you didn't swap your debt to interest free?

LT - you are sooo right!

I actually cannot wait until Friday when I can update my signature and make it '168' - sad really.... but as you say, "one step closer!!" Was thinking about how great it will look when it is under 100 payments (shame its over a year away - won't get too excited about that yet! lol)

Nothing really to update today - sorry folkes!!! Ah, except my new higher interest rate savings account looks like its active, so will start using that for the pennies needed each month for things that get put on the TescoCC.

Ok, so let me tell you about a conversation OH and I had last night.... (are you sitting comfortably? I have no idea how long this post will be!)

*background* After OH inherited some money last year, he has been thinking on and off about handing his notice in at work. The reasoning behind this is that he has been there for almost 30 years, there is little chance of any further progession and he feels like he is a bit trapped in the rat race. This topic of cenversation has been on-going, but he has never reached a definite decision!

SO, last night, we were talking about someone locally who died suddenly and OH said that it had made him realise that there is more to life than working and getting stressed by the 9-5 job, which at the end of the day, the majority of people have to work to be able to afford their lifestyle. Nothing new in the conversation at this point, we had been over this topic several times.

Then he said that he thought that there was an awful lot to be said for frugal living!!! Not having the latest TV, surround-system etc; or any brand-new goods just because you wanted them instead of needing them - to reduce all bills, including food. To 'work' in a way that provides us with enough of an income to cover our needs - but more importantly (for OH) gives him/us more time. Time to do things that need doing, that you want to do, that you enjoy doing. And I think he is right; more time gives you more opportunities!

Ah - gotta go home now...... all thoughts on this appreciated!

i think he's right as well. I wish i didn't HAVE to work full time, and one day i will be able to chose whether to work full or part time, but that's a fair distance away from now. But every step i take towards debt freedom and all the hard lessons i'm learning now will get me there.
Can i ask something? you can tell me to bog off if you want....
are you a lot younger than your OH? I imagine you being in your early 20's and yet you said your OH had been working somewhere for 30 years. Nosey moi???? lol

    Good morning All!

LT - Nosey? Never! Yes, there is a 15 year age gap between OH and myself. I will be 31 this year and he will be 46! :D

I think there will be many hours more discussion on OH new way of thinking - and in a way I wouldn't be overly surprised if we end up somewhere in the middle. ;) But that is still a good thing - at least to start with, will be nice to have him totally on board with moneysaving. If he were to give up work, it would be a fair few years before I would.... one thing to bear in mind (I think) is my state pension contribution (not that I think there is going to be one when I am old!!) as at the moment, due to my financial situation over the past years, that is all I will have to rely on in my latter years!

So - we shall see. But it definitely leads to interesting times ahead! :p

Right, off to do some work - will probably be back later! Nats x
