Thanks to Zoold for giving the heads-up. These comps are great to know about.
Unfortunately it's another of these comps run by Opia http://www.opia.co.uk/opia-faq.htm#Q10 . They specialize in risk-managed promotions where a mechanic is worked-out that will pay-out a fraction of the headline prize-fund.
I'm glad Cestlavie chipped in because had I not had a close look at the rules I would be off to Tesco today for some of these crisps. TBH I don't know if scam is too harsh a word. A 1 second time-slot is ridiculously small (although not impossible) so I've made the decision to give this a miss.
Good luck to any who give this a go0 -
We love crisps and as they are on offer at Tesco at the moment, seems like a good enough reason to buy Golden Wonder.
Thanks to zoold for posting. There is no guarantee in any competition, you enter if you want to. I am very grateful for the posts.
Looks like the spare room will be filled with crisps..still makes a change from biscuits:)0 -
Aw I am pretty sure we will have some winners just wait and see - Thanks for posting OP xxxxxxxxx

Thanks zoold for the comp. I will be giving it a go (in for a penny, in for a pound). I think scam is definitely the wrong word. This is a lottery, plain (or cheese & onion
) and simple. Your chance in the national lottery is much lower than this comp., but we still play it (well I do). If you divide the prize total per day (404 chances) and divide that into 64,800 seconds, you get 160.3960396. Therefore, you have a 1 in 160 chance of winning something per day.
Help yourself
Never put tables and chairs in the same room.
If they congregate together for any length of time, they will inevitably hatch plots against you and your pets.

Can you even get Golden Wonder crisps these days?0

There is no guarantee in any competition, you enter if you want to.
Of course, but the guarantee, in the majority of competitions, is that the prize fund will be won, not necessarily by me or you, but it will be won. In these type of competitions, it is possible that there will be no winners at all. The design is such that it is difficult to win although not impossible.
I'm sure there will be some winners on this but overall the odds of picking a winning second is 404/64800 or 1/150 approx.0 -
They are half price in Tesco's at the moment 65p for a pack of six, so its worth a go.Good Luck to everyone0
-
Yea, I'd give that a punt for 65p. As a sidenote, they're pretty woeful crisps as I remember0
-
I'm addicted to crisps, so this is definitely one for me!
Saved to dailies.
:j42.7 percent of all statistics are made up on the spot:hello: Good Luck everyone !:hello:0 -
Thank you to cestlavie for pointing it out about the low odds of winning.
When I read the Original Post at the top of the thread (yesterday) I had made a mental note to myself to pop into Tesco to buy a a few bags.
Luckily I forgot. So I have saved myself a few pounds forking out on something that looks to be a bit of a con.
They call it a Million Pound Giveaway. But I would estimate they will only give away a minute fraction of that figure!
Some of these agencies who set up competitions can be very cunning.

Anyway surely it is the discussion of all these twists and turns in competitions that makes being part of this forum so worth while.0
