    I slow-cooked the chicken - seemed fine :)

I'd have eaten 6 day old turkey. I'll sometimes eat the last of the cold cuts from Sunday's roast on Saturday and never had any problems. I am healthy though and seem able to eat most things. I'm careful to keep the meat well, too.

Well, I guess these an whole range of the packet powders in the supermarket, so I surpose you can choose whichever one you like the sound off.

But they are expensive for what you actually get.

What flavours would you like to mix with the pasta for yourselves?

If you don't like the jar flavours, what about mushroom or chicken condensed soup? its oftern on offer as well :money:

    Hi boydE,

Powders can be expensive for what they are and aren't nearly as nutritious as a simple homemade sauce. If I was you I'd give making your own a go.

These threads have lots of quick and easy recipes that may help:

    Anyone any pasta ideas????

I'll add your thread to the first link once you've had some more suggestions.

-If you are keen on tuna, try tuna with tinned tomatoes and a few capers (oh, and cop up an onion and fry it first).
-Onion, mushroom and a bit of cream
-Salmon and cream (a few capers, if you like them)

I think these are my favourites, although we do make plenty of different types (We have a box of ragu/bolognese in the fridge at the moment).

Often, if we had a roast (chcken/beef/pork/...) I will fry up shredded/chopped left overs with some onion, maybe some cream for the chicken, tomato for beef and add the pasta to that.

Sorry but what are powders? I eat pasta at least 3 times a week & have never heard of them.

My most basic pasta sauce is: fry an onion and garlic and maybe peppers or similar if you have available, then add a tin of chopped tomatoes, tomato puree and some herbs (usually dried), then simmer for 15mins. Blitz with a stick blender and you have pasta sauce. It's nice topped with grated cheese and extra nice with chopped up sausages. I avoid sugar and salt because my toddler normally has a portion but most recipes say to add about a tablespoon or two of sugar and about 1/2 a teaspoon of salt.

Think the OP is referring to the powders you can buy and add water to for making pasta sauces.

Philadelphia style (I use tesco value soft cheese) makes a simple but really tasty pasta sauce. My kids love it with peas and brocolli :)
