Morning all! Repair man was back today, with landlord in toe, to check on the leak and to clean my mold from anothr leak. I'd never had a good look at my mold before but it's like a rainbow, normal greens and greys, plus acid yellow and baby pink! Gotta search hard and find a bright side when your house is moldy, leaky and generally a wreck

Going to try to keep up with my OS/revision list today, got a wash on atm and done some bits of uni work so far but still have a lot more work to do, clean the bathroom(before a lovely long hot bath- i need it!!) and get a batch of something beany in the SC. I'm down to just one hm meal in the freezer so need to get stocking up or i'll be living off baked spuds with cottage cheese and peas forever :rotfl:
Will go on a quick whoopsie hunt tonight, usual budgens but also going to check tesco express for... ready meals  well mostly snack type things, cooked meat and pasta salads as i've noticed they have a lot of those reduced late but i've never actually bought any before.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
We went over to our freezer trade place and picked up quite a few bargains
So it will see us through for 2 month's at least, probably more - which is great because March is a hefty bill month (Electric, Gas, MOT and Car Tax
)
Cold windy and raining now and I was going to go and pay some more bills (Council extortion fee, water and put some money on the tv licence card,) but that can wait until tomorrow. Thank goodness Feb and March are free of C.tax and water.
Just going to grab some lunch - think I will have some beans on toast with a sprinkle of grated cheese and a good splash of HP sauce :D
Take care all xBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

I am so struggling with food shopping this month, doing an online shop to be delivered on Saturday but my trolley seems to just have meat in it. I really need to meal plan and work out what we've got in cupboards then try again. going to try and plan for 2 weeks then do another shop at end of the month..
OH is STILL in bed... I think he's working tomorrow though, so thats something.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

No work again today! Atleast they told me now instead of waiting for me to get there to send me home!Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Hi again - feel a bit more normal now. Been to Doctors and they've given me some muscle relaxants which may (will) make me sleepy - so no driving for a while. Popped into work, boss explained the problems the business is having and has asked for a bit of leeway - so have decided that as I like the job I'll give him another month! Have got some files in the car somewhere which I'll have a look through when I'm not sleepy. Quick cup of tea before the school run.
Thank you so much for all your nice thoughts - must have definately made an impact. XXXXXMe, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -
Brr just got in from the Uni library spent a good couple of hours there scouring through various journals ,managed to find two books that were hopefully be useful in my essay but the one I really wanted I have to order from the Templeman Library in Canterbury and I won't get that until next week.It would probably have been easier to drive down there and pick it up but with the price of petrol going through the roof at £6.50 a gallon I thought no I'll wait and save my cash. Its a 40 odd mile round trip.Still I have got a few bits to be going on with.No food shopping at all and I am really pleased with that as the less I spend the more I'll use up what I already have in the fridge/freezer.No need to go out now until next week for any shopping.Right so its heads down for a bit of studying.
Have a good afternoon everyone I am off to make a huge pot of tea to help me concentrate a bit
Cheers Chums JackieO xx0 -

Have been a girly swot and been for a swim, sauna and jacuzzi today, and feel sooo much better for it:DAm determined to get fitter this year, and OH is gonna start running again:D:D
Am trying to be frugal with the food budget this month, after the mental xmas and NY spending:eek::eek: and so are having veg lasagne leftovers for tea with jacket spuds:p:p
Have been giving OH jobs to do such as bin emptying and washing up as I feel like a bit of a slave at the mo, but he's not lazy really just enjoying being spoiled I think;)
DD is suffering from morning sickness now, so I reckon we've got another girly on the way, not that I mind either way as long as they're safe:o
No news on my Aunty yet, but they're suspecting vascular dementia:(
Anyway (((huggles))) to all in need today:A"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

Hey, I need your collective brainpower folks!
We had our annual toy collection at Christmas. Usually go to a prisoner's charity, but lack of space means they don't want them this year. Any ideas for deserving charities who could use these? My thoughts so far are the local women's refuge, or the local children's hospice, but would welcome any suggestions.Resolution:

I would say a women's refuge too, or the local children's hospital. You could also ask your local authority if their children's homes would accept them? There are smaller individual organisations for sick children or specific illnesses which would happily accept them I would imagine, such as Calum's Cabin - obviously this isn't near you, but there may be some like this closer to home? Or perhaps a workmate has a family experience of a particular illness or disease and the charity linked to it may be able to make use of them?
