Good Morning everyone .Sc is going on this morning with some stewing lamb from the freezer ,hopefully I will make a nice hotpot from it and any left will be portioned up for later in the freezer.Youngest DD just popped in for a quick coffee she is a bit down as her CV's are going out daily and she's not had a lot of feed back as yet.She not only needs to work for the money she actually enjoys working even with five children.Bless she was feeling a bit undervalued ,I may give her some flowers to cheer her up.
I have a college run this morning with DGD as her buses are few and far between then I am going on to Uni library to try and get some books for my essay which I will have to get a move on as I'm back next Monday, hopefully with an essay of 3000 words about the sewerage sytem of 19th century London in my hand :)
No shopping to buy foodwise as yet ,can't be bad I've bought no food shopping this year :):)
have a good day whatever you are doing and I hope all the poorlies get better soon
    Cheers JackieO xxx
P.S. cheap quick cold sore remedy rather than those tiny tubes of creme.Dab with aftershave or indeed any spirit ,hurts a bit (stings ) but cheaper than £7.00 for cold sore creme

    Morning All!

Bright and sunny here today, windy and cold too but at least the sun is out, made for quite a pleasant walk to work. :)

OH and I got up early again in line with our new years goals. Could easily have stayed in bed though, OH woke me in the middle of the night sleep talking so I was exhausted!

Had a massive coffee once I got into work so that should keep me going until lunch time.

I have plum tomato soup for lunch and we have Cauliflower cheese grills with vegetables for tea. Using up the dregs of the freezer now!

Not much OS wise happening this evening, rooms are relatively tidy so I'll be working on my uni essay again tonight. Hoping to get 1,000 words written although that might be wishful thinking!

Well I'm off to have a browse, have a great day all! :T

Morning all! Up late today as could not sleep last night, didn't go to bed till about 2am, wasn't tired then so had to force myself to try and sleep!

Lazy day for me today i think, going to have long bath and lunch and probably get early train to work later (If they need me) and moooch around the shops.

really need to do a stock check of what we've got in the cupboards and freezer as want to get an asda shop in on saturday, I want to stick to my budget and that means spending about £50 for the rest of the month! I'm sure we can do it though. need to be sensible.
    Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
    Debt payments 2012 £433.27

    Morning All

Well, my last day off for a while, school starts tomorrow so back to the grind. It will be nice to have a bit of normality back, DS2 will be going back to Uni some time over the weekend. I'm sure he will let me know when as I am to take him!!

The weather here is a bit grim, cold and wet but it has been snowing overnight although thankfully not very much. Glad I made the trip north yesterday. I have done 2 loads of washing and they are on the racks drying. The fires are lit to keep it cosy. I was woken up at half 7 by DD phoning from Oz for a chat but I had at least had a good night's sleep for a change. DD had told me a week or so ago that she had been at the doctors as she was being sick all the time. She has now told me that she had a c.a.t. scan as they thought she had appendicitis! At least she is with family friends who will have looked after her but she didn't let on quite how bad she was. I'm sure we will have a big medical bill though!

Sorry so many of you are still not 100%, hope you feel better soon. Take care all. XX

    Hi everyone

DDs back at school, and DH is away til tomorrow, so its just me and the cat - seems very quiet :o

I'm supposed to be catching up on my OU course today, but so far been for a 3 mile walk (new years resolution!), done 2 loads of washing, and some cleaning, plus hoovering........now I'm on here, so not much studying being done at the moment lol!

OS today, well, we are completely skint this month, so planning to live off the freezer and cupboards, and I know I have quite a lot of chicken breast frozen, so will be making chicken curry I think! When it was Diwali, I managed to get a great deal on rice - a 5kg bag for £5, and it was a BOGOF, so at the moment we have 10kg of rice stashed under my bed. Good job we all like curries, although not sure what else I'll do with it when we get tired of them ;) I'm sure you'll all have some great idea's to help out!

We're still eating potatoes from my allotment - on to the last bag now though, so will have to start buying them in February - we also have lots of green beans, sweetcorn and tomatoes which I froze, as we couldn't eat them all, had a massive glut, so they will help keep us going - and my freezer is also jam packed with frozen berries (raspberries and blackberries), plus some blackcurrants, plums and apples, so will use that too, to save buying too much fresh fruit. Only aiming to go to the shops for bread and milk and eggs.

esmf - sorry to hear about your neck - I had the same before christmas, and went to my doctor after a few days and she prescribed some mild muscle relaxants which helped to ease the spasm - might be worth considering if it doesn't ease today. Have to read everyone else's messages, but for all those who are still ill, sending you (((((hugs)))))) and for those back at work.....hope the hours fly by.

Right - really MUST try and get to grips with my essay (anyone any idea's on use of language in texts which wouldn't normally be considered creative? - would help with the essay...and no, that doesn't mean swearing lol! Oh well, thought not, better get back to my books!).

    Take care everyone, Jo xx

    Morning everyone.

Glands hurt and my one ear keeps popping :( Clearly me shifting this stupid cold is a long way off grrrrrrr.
Had a mare getting DS ready for school. I had to force him into his uniform, he was crying, screaming and saying he doesn't want to go back. 2 and a half weeks it just too long off quite frankly. Thankfully by the time we got walking he'd calmed down and went in OK although he never said goodbye to me. Wonder if he'll mask today and be a nightmare when he comes home......

    .

Hi Bitsy, DD didn't want to go today either, though she was looking forward to seeing her friends - we've got too used to having late starts over the hols so it was a bit of a shock to the system this morning. House seems very quiet without her though :o Never thought I'd say it, but do miss her a bit (only when she's being good though lol!), at nearly 9, we're starting to get a bit of attitude from her, and I certainly don't miss that! Maybe have a DVD ready for him when he gets home, I sometimes make a 'back to school' celebration cake, or little fairy cakes, as a bit of reward. It sometimes stops the mood getting worse!!

    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Good Morning Everyone.
Been back to doctor's today - more antibiotics and a course of steroids. Hopefully that'll do the trick and I'll be able to breathe properly once more! DH heading to surgery shortly - that does worry me as normally he has to be dragged there kicking and screaming!
Lovely bright day today - a real bonus at this normally grey and damp time of year.
cards now all down and i've amused myself with the pinking shears creating labels for next year's gifts! Very satisfying! I've put them with the wrapping paper too, so there's a chance I will actually find and use them next December! I know the tree needs to come down too, but I do love it lit up so - so I'm going to enjoy it for a few more hours.
DGD and her Mum flew home yesterday - and for once I had a really cheerful text from DS - he'd had a good evening with them with loads of hugs and kisses from littlie so he's feeling a lot les miserable. I was very relieved as 4 year-olds don't always react as you 'd hope!
HM soup and pate and biscuits for lunch. then I shall pull out a pie from the freezer for supper.
I need to walk doggies today, but it can't be far. However, I'm a wee bit fitter than DH at present, so doggies will have to be content. Usually he goes miles with them, so they can't moan at shorter walks in an emergency.
Have called to get kitchen fitters back - the plumbing under the sink is leaking somewhere - everything under there is soaked - and the waste pipe outside keeps falling out of the wall! Wonder how long it'll take for them to get back in touch?
Oh well, must get on a bit. I hope you all have a good day. Do take care.

    Morning All,
Well despite the lurgy still hanging in there, had to get back into some sort of routine as DS back to school today. So up at 6.45! crikey it was dark then, DS out the door for 7.45 & DD out at 9.15, by which time I had sorted DW, done two loads of washing & tidied kitchen & living room & put the rubbish out. Took DP a coffee & he finally emerged at 10 o'clock lazy s*d :) Anyway he is now off out to do our 1st bit of shopping for the year which is just a top up & to pay the rent :( grateful as I am that we have somewhere nice to live, I do hate seeing that wad of money disappear all at once.
Is bright & breezy here albeit very cold so have stripped all beds & DP hung duvets & pillows on the line in the hope of freezing out any germs:) Tuna pasta for tea tonight, one of DP's specialities :) so I am just going to relax with some knitting or a library book for the rest of the day.

    Hugs, spoons & best wishes x x

Been and got the spuds. Done a thorough vac all downstairs and then mopped the floors all through. Back's aching and feel tired but the fact that it's so bloomin' dark here and raining doesn't help either. Put the heating on too as I felt chilled to the bone. Feel bit warmer now I've been moving about so might switch it off. don't normally have it on during the day if I can help it.
Need to cut up my old Christmas cards for gift labels and I think some twinks need to be made. We have lots of choccie but apart from a sandwich nothing for the minded kids to have for a snack.

OK off to go and sort out some lunch for me and DD.

Beemuzed - hope this new set of drugs finally clears up your lurgy. Hope your H is OK x
