Well I think she charges £3.95 per kilo :) she also delivers and picks up - if it's local it's free, if it's outside the town then there is a £5 delivery charge (you'd obviously need to look at if that's a possibility!).
She's got a very simple business unit and a professional iron and charges extra for folding shirts as it's time consuming :)
Advertise in local newsletters, leaflet drop, set up a facebook page and get everyone you know added and ask them to share the link etc
She also has her business details on her car so she's advertising when she's driving round delivering etc :)
The delivery thing is very popular with older gentlemen I believe - they like to look well turned out but they struggle ironing themselves and can't get about easily... Of course it's not just shirts but she does do a LOT of shirts lol ;)

That's the thing we are not looking forward to. How are you living without his wage - the redundancy money?

Can he work as a minicab driver? They seem to work freelance? Just need to get a car and find a cab firm willing to take you.

The army have refused to withdraw his resignation and they advise that they will not accept people rejoining. Even our back up plan has blown up in our face.
Is this legal for the army to do this? Have you checked with anyone if this is really right?

Ref the job that got readvertised the day he got told no, I would suggest he phone up and ask for feedback, and to tell them that he is still available. You never know they might like his initiative. I would do that with any job he has an interview for. Ask for feedback.

Now is the time to double check your finances to see if you can get your utilities, insurances and other outgoings for the least money. Make your money work as hard for you as possible. With a bit of luck you can save money for a nest egg. Apart from anything else, if he is not in the army then his insurance should be cheaper now.

    good luck with moving forward

Nope conveniently they had not done that bit. He had already signed off to leave the army so not like he signed off just for them but I knew it was too good to be true!
So on that case, the thread is a little misleading.

You state earlier that he left for this job, when in truth, he had put his notice i anyway.

One more thing....how could he put in his notice around Christmas, and be ready to leave now?
    Is there no resettlement leave?

I had 18 months resettlement when i demobbed. (about 10 years ago)
