Kick in the stomach

My hubby is having no luck job hunting. He left the army with a job to go to but at the last minute they pulled it from him and gave it to someone else.

No agencies have anything on and every job he applies to either do not reply or interview him and then don't contact him.

It is just one kick in the stomach after another. I have no idea what to do. The army have refused to withdraw his resignation and they advise that they will not accept people rejoining. Even our back up plan has blown up in our face.

Just have visions of literally having nothing in the next 3 months.

There really is no point to this post, I am sorry. I just don't know what to do anymore. :(

Here is the law on job offers
    http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/Startinganewjob/DG_10026703

    Unconditional offer

If you meet the conditions set out in the offer letter, you should receive an unconditional offer once your prospective employer knows this. If you can, wait until you receive the unconditional offer before handing in your notice.

    Accepting an unconditional offer

Once you have accepted an unconditional offer, a contract of employment exists between you and your new employer.

  • Have you looked at the British Legion Be the Boss Fund for ex military starting their own business?

Seems to be lots of help there.
