Morning all!
Hope everyone is doing well and keeping their spending low. I still have the £2 that I started the week with- hurrah!
Will spend it today though on my lunch, I am off on holiday tonight :j so will need something to sustain me until I get there.
I have a £5 budget for magazines at the airport and £250 to spend while away. I really need this break, haven't had much time off for a while and my only holiday in the summer was a week's camping.
See you all next week!

Hi all,
It's dd1's b'day today. Hubby found an expenses cheque the other day that he'd forgotten about so we're going to use 15-20 quid from that to go out for pizza for her b'day. She's soo excited.
Nothing other than that though.

Good morning

Imelda, well done for starting the thread without any errors, it appeared to be a challenge for me yesterday :rotfl: Well done on succeeding on the challenge this week, what a star! :T Have a fabulous holiday, we'll miss you!
So bright and so frosty here this morning! I set off for work armed with hat, scarf and gloves! Definitely winter time!
Today I resisted the temptation of buying Good Housekeeping the Christmas edition! It looks so good but I can't afford £4.99 at the moment
I need to stay focussed for the challenge! Yesterday I spent around £12 on lunch bits and snacks for a few days (keep them in my drawer at work) and the NW magazine - can't wait to get the Benefit palette! :j
Today will be a non spender as I have everything I need and I am busy at work.
So, have a great day everyone and keep it low!Leason learnt :beer:0 -

Like Moozie, i've been ignoring the christmas Good Housekeeping... but I want it! I work for a publishers, but of course, we don't publish that one.

Oh my god, I am shaking. Just checked my internet banking and there was more money in my bills account than there should be. The SLC has refunded all the money they owe me- £380.72!! I am astounded, I knew they owed me money but thought it would take months to arrange and I didn't think it would be that much. So thanks to Jim W team 8 at the SLC, you are a star!
(I now have £900 in my savings to pay off the 0% card when the offer runs out next May, I am soooo tempted to pay it off now)Saving for an early retirement!0 -

Excellent news Imelda - great start to your holiday
I need to post two parcels, though the money to do that is in my Paypal account so is not really a cost to me.
Also need to buy three things at co-op and resist the temptation to buy anything else while I'm there. Will post later about actual cost.0 -
Wow fab news Imelda, have a brilliant time on holiday!
I'm hoping for a no spender today, bit under the weather with a cold so it'll be a day in the house for me.
Have also got two cheques that need paying in, not sure what acc to pay them into tho. Current acc and it get eaten up by my outgoings this month, or little acc on the side which is New York New York savings, but have instant access to?
Hmmmmmmmmm I wonder?Wealth is not measured by currency0 -
Imelda - that's fantastic news! :j  :j  :j  :j
Very good ending to a good week and just before your holiday - brilliant!
Now, resist temptation to pay off the 0% card now please! Let the money earn some interest while the debt is at 0%. One less thing to worry about, great stuff! :TLeason learnt :beer:0
