    Good morning all.

Thank you for your comments if they were on topic.

Firstly, the company have refunded the money without question.

Secondly, the card had been left on a table - it was not a question of autofill fields - dangerous though they are.

Thirdly, I am disappointed that Pizzas weren't ordered.

Fourthly, a (friendly) police officer will be visiting to warn the child of the seriousness of the offence. Because it is serious. Theft/fraud - maybe - but definitely a breach of trust as I had discussed for days that I would not pay for membership for such sites. And it could have been a lot worse.

5thly, I am raising with the company the question why a child attractive site needs parental permission to join (via activation e-mail) but payments go through addressed to the child. They used my name on the card but gave their name as the one ordering the membership. Also no requirement for the 3 digit security number or 3D secure password processing. i.e. hard to join but easy to spend money.

6thly, This has indeed proved a good exercise for further education on the nature of the internet. For child and parent.
  • Thanks OP for coming back.

I think you have noted the lesson here, how easy it is for a child to activate an account with limited knowledge of the parent/carer, especially where emails are directed to the child about the account, anmd the Hard to Join, easy to spend part.

As for Pizzas, three cups of strong flour, pinch of salt, oil, water, cup of water. Mix well. Tomato puree on base, strong cheese, ham, pineapple chunks. Put in oven at 200C for 18 minutes.

Even try some on the errant one.
