My 6 year old boy signed up to one of the child friendly virtual reality worlds. Used my debit card without permission
    .

    :rotfl:Absolute rubbish !!!

    Nice try though.....

I have children twice the age of your "6 year old" and theres no way that they would know how to go onto the internet and make a purchase using a debit card on their own .

Bet you are just using this excuse to get out of whatever it is you have signed up for !

DSR doesn't apply to services where the service begins the moment the transaction is complete.
  • and this thread people, is why autocomplete forms on newer browsers is a bad idea.

Did it ever occur to anyone that the card details have been saved thanks to google chromes autofill feature and the child was simply signing up to yet another website as probably already has facebook, email, and other related social websites.

there you go op, ive given you a good excuse to argue against the fact you clearly want to get out of your new subscription to the Hello Kitty MMORPG.

My 8 year old signed up to one of the kids games site with my permission and it had an email sent to the parent to confirm that I was aware of it.
Unfortunately my email account had a saved password so my son just went into my email and clicked the link to confirm I had agreed to his joining, it could have been anything.
I was in the house at the time and he had asked me if he could join. However when I went to get the email it was already confirmed and he said "its ok mummy I did it for you"
Kids are really computer savvy now. They do these things innocently. I had a long talk with my son about computer safety and privacy. Also about staying out of my email account, which no longer has a saved password
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

Think I best hide my cards. My 3 year old is already a whizz on the computer, and I've also caught the little tyke dipping his fingers into my change jar to put into his own money box!

We get that you don't believe the OP but to say that it can't happen because your children haven't done it is more than a tad odd.
  • Mind me this eve at Beavers to hide my phone and wallet. You never know what they could get up to.
