Plus the card has either been used with your knowledge or fraudulently which opens up another can of worms.Different rules apply to services where the consumer agrees that the service starts before the usual cancellation period expires. These rules are as follows.
Where you have supplied the required durable information before
the service starts and the consumer agrees to the service
starting before the end of the usual cancellation period, their
cancellation rights will end when performance of the service starts
if the consumer agrees that the service can start before the usual
cancellation period ends, but you do not provide the required
written information until after the service has started but
provide it in time for it still to be useful, cancellation rights will last
for seven working days after the day the consumer receives the
information. But if you finish providing the service within seven
working days after the day the consumer receives the required
durable information, cancellation rights will end on the day of
completion,
or
if you do not provide the required durable information at all,
your consumer’s right to cancel ends after three months and
seven working days counting from the day after the day on which
the contract was concluded. This applies whether or not the
consumer agrees that you can start the service before the
cancellation period ends.0 -
clever kid! You should be proud!
My 3 year old nephew is a !!!!!!!' genius, and can navigate around youtube like a pro! Cracks me up. Kids today.0 -
I used to get this on ebay to get out of paying for the goods i've sold, blaming the kids is a great excuse.0

I think this would probably cover the purchase in question.Exceptions to the right to cancel
13.—(1) Unless the parties have agreed otherwise, the consumer will not have the right to cancel the contract by giving notice of cancellation pursuant to regulation 10 in respect of contracts—
(f)for gaming, betting or lottery services.0 -
OP has two choices.
1 if he is so clever at that age, I would seek out the gambling sites, you never know
2 if it was used without your consent, I.e. Date of birth, address, password for access to website and the card details together with 3 digit security code, then I would inform the bank a fraud has been committed.
Though Freddie does not condone gambling, I would not be too rushed to get the bank or police involved if a fraud has been committed as the IP address that was used to create the account and emails may have been recorded.
Note to viewers, my apple account allows the iPod and iPad to store passwords, freddie does not use this facility because of problems. Also, when Freddie first used his iPad to download the Tiger Lillies, they also required inside leg measurements.0 -
Its digraceful that criminals are starting this young, today yes he used your card, tomorrow it will be a strangers card he jhas managed to get hold of.
You need to nip this in the bud, maybe if you explained what has happened to the police, they could have a word with the little budding miscreant , it may put him on the straight and narrow0 -

What a stupid suggestion, The boy is 6 and probably didn't know what the card was for. Kids at that age get up to all kinds of mischief.
True, a stern word may be needed and that's a part of growing up, you learn what's right and wrong. Going to the police with your 6 year old son is a little bit extreme.
Use your head before you type next time.I try to help as much as I can. But I'm also honest and speak my mind.

We have plenty of comments on this bored about trinkets being lost, my card used and I knew nothing of it.Unintentional wrote: »What a stupid suggestion
One beggers the questions as to why, if a fraud has been commited, OP does not go to the Police, but comes on here.
The problem is not the card use, but a lot of people do not realise that the nice little trinket given out actually has a value. This is the same as my IPad and Phone. They are a kind of preauthorisation for money to be taken from my account. Except I have to entrer my password, also I can deauthorise the trinket from afar, should Freda run off too far.
As for the gaming site that the child joined, no doubt with the parents permission, they run a continuous authorisation.0 -
Think I best hide my cards. My 3 year old is already a whizz on the computer, and I've also caught the little tyke dipping his fingers into my change jar to put into his own money box! :eek:There's a storm coming, Mr Johnson. You and your friends better batten down the hatches, because when it hits, you're all gonna wonder how you ever thought you could live so large and leave so little for the rest of us.0
