Got a 200MB one - thanks. Quite a nifty bit of kit - and very quiet.
I would have liked a 300MB one - but no stock - but when a good deal on a USB device comes along, I can just piggy-back it on this one if I need more storage.

    you mean GB

I've got a Netgear MP101 media player - can the server software run on one of these or are they purely storage?

Have just checked with Doncaster, they have run out of the 300GB but have 3 of the 200GB remaining at £69.91.
  • Try to get the 300GB as it is 16MB cache, not 8MB.

Multifunctional printers will only have print capability as per page 13 of the manual; no scanning or copying.

And some don't work at all.
  • Hi, i have mine working a treat with my netgear wireless music player. So you can stream music/video once it has the new firmware on it

Is this the 'MSS v262' firmware that's available from the Maxtor site?

I got a couple of the 300gb ones yesterday, but could some kind soul tell me if I have got this right:

If I update the firmware, I can play all my movies, music etc on any system connected to the network (including WiFi laptops)?

Does the original firmware prevent this somehow?

    Thanks.

  • Yes i updated the firmware then downloaded the quickstart software from maxtors site, burned it to a disk and installed it. There is a tickbox when you run the new software that enables media server, you can transfer music etc onto the drive then you need to rescan and it searches drive for media
