Morning people just a quickie,
Well i had another LARGE wobble last night, and so i stayed put, refused to have alcohol until my ns fella turned up! then only had 1 glass of red wine which was enough to knock me out due to the poor sleep.
This is crunch time for me being the weekend so i've planned a busy one, including walks, cross trainer and going out for tea and having a session on the sunbedthat i can afford because i am a NON-SMOKER :j and therefore as stated earlier not nipping to the shop to get fags (and the rest of the rubbish!)
I think my hormones have been all over the place, or some part of my mind playing tricks to try to get me to have a fag but i have resisted.
Right plans to make, life to have, and sue's pm to read properly
Soooo pleased for everyone, thankyou very much :A

Marvellous news, maz! The occasional wobble is quite understandable, but with doing it mostly CT, it's not bad at all. I was thrilled to read that you're treating yourself so well...do that each weekend and you have a lot to look ahead to at the expense of a far healthier lifestyle. Did the wine help you to sleep better last night? Give yourself the praise you deserve, maz and very well done!! :T
You're doing wonderfully, DNM!! :T:T Nigh on 3 weeks and what a time to be so delighted at, little over a week and you'll be achieving another great milestone - without ever smelling like an ashtray any more! :j Any more treats for you recently? If not think about it as you reallt do deserve it. Be proud DNM and praise yourself a LOT!!!

Day 9 of cold turkey .... and have still got a productive cough and to make matters worse, I have been coughing soooo much I have sent my back muscles into attack. So not only is it now pure agony when I cough, I cannot get myself in a comfortable position anywhere. GRRRRR
I have had a lot of withdrawal symptoms, sweats/shakes/chills/nausea/dizziness/panic attack x1/insomnia/wind(!).... I really hope it gets better0 -

Something happened in the last couple of days - the smell of smoke - well specifically the stale smell of smoke has started to smell DISGUSTING which has left me with the embarrassing realisation that only a couple of weeks ago this was mebut at least this is no longer the case :j
ok need to get ready for work now, but will catch up later - I wish you all a wonderfully happy & smoke free day x
Determined, 3 weeks WOW it really does fly by in hindsight, and your right, the smell is awful, and makes you think 'YUK' and then you realise people must have thought that about us when we all smoked!!bottleofred wrote: »Hi determined new ms,
Well done on quitting. Having quit for almost 5 years, I totally understand where you are coming from. It's amazing that you don't realise how utterly disgusting the smell is when you smoke, but the minute you stop OMG, ashtray city:o! Time does go slowly when you first stop, as I went cold turkey and nobody could look at me for the first 3 days without me biting their heads off:o, but after that, days blend into weeks and months etc. As I've said before though, everyone should do what is right for them, use whatever method they need to quit and only concentrate on not smoking for today. Good luck to you and the rest of the forum members who have quit or are trying to. I wish you all a good weekend with a glass or 2:beer:
Red
Red, I completely agree with all you have said, I think as a smoker you dont realise how awful the smell is because your surrounded by it 24/7??Morning people just a quickie,

Sailorswife, I feel your pain, there is nothing worse than bad back muscles during a cough, You really have had a tough time of it by the sounds of your withdrawal symptoms, but I can tell you now it does get better, and when your on the other side you will think 'dont know what all the fuss was about' you are doing brilliantly :T

After smoking 50 + a day for more than 42 years, I have stopped.:)
I now hate the smell of the things but I still crave one or 20. I am determined not to start again but I find that I am eating instead so will put on weight. Any advice?0 -
Still non-smoking here and to be honest it is getting easier now. Did have a bit of a twinge about 4pm though - which got ignored as usual.
Good luck to us quitters tonight xThis time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -

Well done ali. I am eating too. I have found housework and ironing to help (how boring) not much help on a Saturday night though. I also found having a long bath each evening with nice new smellies seemed to help, then cleaning my teeth and drinking really cold water until I went to bed.
Lets just be honest, it costs an extortionate amount, it stinks, it kills, it tastes foul and it is incredibly unsociable. I would rather have a floppy belly than smoke now. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.

Hi Sheep-ali, welcome to our humble community, can I just say big time congratulation on quitting, and also for making it 19 days :T
The cravings will die down over time, sometimes you got to think ... is it a craving .... or is it me thinking about it, which in turn creates a craving??
I would encourage you to have a nose back through this thread, and thread number 2 as there are some brilliant hints and tips on the pages, you will be well looked after here and the support is phenominalpenelopedee wrote: »Still non-smoking here and to be honest it is getting easier now. Penelopee, good for you for ignoring your craving, are you finding its getting easier and easier to deal with?penelopedee wrote: »Well done ali. I am eating too. The thing is, we are bound to put on a few pounds once quit, as prior we would think im hungry and have a fag, we dont do that now, I gave in and put on the few pounds, which im now getting rid of.
The way i thought of it, i would rather be smoke free and loose weight after than loose weight, then put it back on when i quit smoking lol

Hi, still new to this - altho I've been a serial lurker for some time - so apologies if it's in the wrong place.
Come Sunday night, after smoking since I was 13- I'm now 40 - I will have stopped smoking for 3 whole weeks! This is probably my 1443402th attempt but also, hopefully my last.
I stopped for 3 weeks last year but we lost our mum and I stupidly used this as an excuse to start again. I've been nagged to the point of distraction by my loving family ever since!
I'm using an inhalator thingy which I'm finding absolutely fantastic and would recommend to anyone as it sort of keeps my hands busy and stops me munching all the time. Can't say it's been easy all the way so far, but I'm coping and taking one day at a time. I was also using patches until a few days ago but I forgot to put one on, never noticed till the next day so thought I'd see how it went without them and so far so good.
Good luck to everyone who is also in the process of quitting right now, we can do this x“People who say it cannot be done should not interrupt those who are doing it.”0
