Yay, two months as a non smoker - using e-cig

Hit the two month mark over the weekend and feeling very very proud of myself. Went to take my remaining Microsoft Office Specialist exams today too and passed them all so I am now a Microsoft Office Specialist Master - yee haw! These last few weeks have been stressful with all the studying and cramming and haven't been tempted to reach for a cigarette in that time. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that you never need to smoke again.

Thanks to everyone who's bee really supportive. It's a great thing we're doing, helping each other to get out of the clutches of smoking.

  • I dont know:(-slapped legs all round for some of you. Can't you just play nicely with people working towards exactly the same goal :):)

So its a week for me :T:T and thats good
I rather think I am a good few pounds heavier and thats not good :(

Having got through quite a lot of today without even thinking about em then I think its time to control the food too. I can handle a couple of pounds or so to lose but I cannot let it get out of control.

hope this thread can stay supportive because it has been really important to me since I decided to give up.I would love to start being able to support others too but i just dont do rows, particularly ones where its finger pointing , his fault her fault stuff :mad: grow up for goodness sake.

Thanks again to everyone who has been lovely and supportive to me which is just what i needed please keep doing what you all did for me :T:A

At least it's not just me that did that :rotfl:
No it made me really poorly :( Umm, I couldn't sleep at all, for months, I had to be completely utterly zonked to sleep, so I wasn't sleeping till 4 or 5 am.
It was a very bad time for me. I've only really just got over it.

I was a nervous wreck, rushed myself into the doctors many times. Must have taken years off my life, all that stress.

Well done NTC and very well said! We are all trying to reach the same goal, and it's very challenging at times!

Try not to worry too much about food at the moment, one battle at a time!

Very big congratulations to you :) for both, the exam and the no smoking.
Hows it going with the e-cig?

lotus thats terrible and I am glad you are over it now :)

I do hope I am not putting people off with grotty details, please tell me if I do. I find it easier to see on screen why I gave up :D

NTC A week is great :T it only feels like five minutes since you was on count down. I am piling the weight on to but I am going to sort that out when a little more mobile. Soon as I am able I am on those scales and walking round the estate like a mad woman :D:D

Thankyou, I know it's still waiting in the wings and if I let it, it will come back, I think a nights worth of heavy smoking should do it. Which is why I can't possibly allow myself to smoke again.

I personally think the grotty details can only but help :D

The weight thing is a swine as everything tastes so lovely again and picking at stuff out of the fridge seems to pass the time that you'd normally spend smoking. I'm trying to develop more savoury tastes and my favourite thing to always have in the fridge is a mix of chopped up beef tomatoes, sweet onions, coriander, olive oil & salt & pepper. If I'm peckish, I toast up a slice of sourdough outta the freezer and have a homemade kinda brushcetta which is lovely and not empty calories.

Agree with PIC and Lotus and think that we should post the bad things on here too as they'll help everyone that comes up against these temptations, barriers, general feeling of 'missing' something as this was certainly why I've failed so many times in the past. The most important thing is not to go back to killing yourself with smoking and sometimes if things are all about successes on here, if you cave you would be reluctant to come back on here and admit to that as you'd feel as though you were letting people down that had supported you. It doesn't matter if you fail a million times, what matters is that you feel you can jump back on here to help you try something else until you crack it.

I've got visions of part mouse in tears and that makes me upset for her. Please come back and post how you're doing - it sounds like you have a lot of stress ahead of you with surgery coming up and I know I'd like to try and support you to give up the cigarettes to improve your quality of life. Hope you're still reading hun xxx

Thanks all for the welcome and supportive messages. I've now got the 'divorce papers' and shall start divorce proceedings tomorrow. Quit date is currently 17th - it may well move forward and I'll explain that in a later post (i'll also thank you all properly then).
Personally i don't care how anyone quits as long as they manage to quit and then stay off the white sticks
