    Hope everyone is doing well.

Underpressure you do have a point with the being busy - I found that a real help in th early days. I seemed to get loads done & didn't really want to sit down & have a coffee as that's when I used to have a cig, but I soon broke the association which surprised me how quickly it went.

    All the very best everyone.

Amazingly busy day today, doctors first this morning, blood pressure well down, breathing improved, I didn't need them to tell me that, I already knew it.
Blood tests away for cholesterol, hopefully it will be down, have to wait and see.
Doctor was relatively clued up on e-cigs, much to my surprise, although this one has only been out of medical school for 6 months I think (he's only been with the practice this long and he seems very young), but he said he'd not seen one like mine (only seen cig look alikes before), he's going to go away and find out more.
Atm, he seemed happy I am on them and not smoking.

He did seem surprised that since I had the first one, I haven't touched a real cig since, at first I'm not sure he believed me tbh, we are in deepest middle England and I don't think he has had many customers with e-cigs come in the door. But he seemed to believe me as time went on.

The rest of the day was brilliant, with me and my DD running around doing silly things, that no way would I been able to do while I smoked. Lots of activity.

Viva no smoking, that's all I can say :)

My docs are equally pleased and next week I go onto 24mg/ml :T.

Yeah I'm the same...try everything then try e-cigs....I had tried everything I could and it had all ended in tears and being told to go back on the cigs :(. That's how bad I got....

For the record I started on 36mg/ml and am now on 26mg/ml and next week I shall be on 24mg/ml...Happy and comfortable with my reduction plan so why change? Am eager to get that down quicker but like I don't want to put a spanner in the works... I'd rather reduce slower and not smoke then try and reduce quicker and like end up smoking :(...IYSWIM. So hence not changing my reduction plan....

It's going to take till almost the end of the year to get off the nic completely but still :A

Shame we can't post the links to the e-cig info sites on this board when folk ask :(. That's really upset me but I guess 'goddess' has dictated...

Can we put a link to the e-cig thread on here Sue? Is that 'allowed'. Links there are fine as they are info sites - not commercial sites

    :(:(:(:(:(

I thought it was made fairly clear a few pages ago:

There's a chance we can move closer together so long as, on this thread, when people seek help with what's best to quit, no one jumps in with the offer of e-cigs straight away, because as you say yourself, it's far better if folk can stop the whole thing rather than leave the nicotine in their lives.

Also, one other thing I'd ask is that, all links apart from MSE ones are given only by PM. If you can commit to both of those then I'm happier, by band of warriors also I'm sure.

To me it seems the sensible way to go, that this thread concentrates on actually giving up the addiction, while the vaping thread concentrates of those issues that are important to vapers.

Both are separate entitities, which might share some common ground, but are by no means the same, and I for one feel that Sue is correct in her guidance.
  • Belated (sorry:o) - but huge well done to Choille for the 2 years smoke free

I passed the three month mark this week - and just can't believe i've done it sometimes. Although i am having to get a grip with the extra pounds and spare tyres so am back on healthy eating plan with a vengance.
New tap shoes arrived yesterday ( 2nd hand off ebay) and am getting quite excited to try them out next week at my lesson. OH getting a bit tired of all the tapping about at home..lol - i'm just enjoying the fact that our kitchen has a lovely stone tile floor - sounds fab haha

    Hugs to all

Many thanks for all the good wishes in being off the cigs for two years.

Erme - Sounds like you are trying to cause trouble with your last post - please stop it before YOU upset people. This thread is for people who want to stop smoking. It is not for getting people off one method of taking in nicotine & getting them hooked on another method & it is for people supporting each other in that attempt.
Please STOP your Shoite stirring as it is very offensive & counter productive.

may also be that what you are accusing someone else of.

As I said before, lets leave the bickering to pm's. You're entitled to your views, but if you keep bringing them up on the thread, then I will reply to defend e-cigs.
