Woah hooooo - You're on the road Underpressure. Hope things continue in this vain & things go to plan. I too cut down without really planning to as I didn't have the same desire to smoke & it seemed I had to kinda pinch myself as I realised that it was longer & longer between cigs smoked.
Itwas after a doubled up the dose that I started to feel sick, but that was helped by eating breakfast - not just the strong coffee with 3 fags routine as was my norm.......0 -
Day 132 I used Champix to stop money saved so far £853.84 after all my treats I have £660 in the bank while I smoked I had no money saved at all in fact I was quite often in debt so happy I stopped plus there are many more benefits good luck everyoneLow Carb High Fat is the way forward I lost 80 lbs

Well don you! That is absolutely brilliant
I must admit finances are a big motivation for me this time as well, both me an my partner smoke, when you work it out we are spending around £300 per month in cigarettes, it is a ridiculous amount of money to be spending crikey that is almost half our rent gone up in smoke!
Having that as an extra £300 a month in the bank will be a huge help for us, it is so expensive now just to live a relative frugal life something has to go to make life a little more worry free!
Anyway well done keep it up"You can measure a man's character by the choices he makes under pressure"Sir Winston Churchill0 -
Well done, Smileytiger, you have done so well. Your news will be encouraging for those who have just started on Champix. There will be many warm, self-congratulary moments in front of the fire on your own - believe me. My OH is still smoking and has to go outside in -C. Do I feel sorry for him? I think you know the answer to that.
Your bedroom sounds wonderful, flis21, - you will have to post a photo when it is finished.
Needstochange - there is nothing wrong with listening to Eddie. Welcome to the thread. May I suggest that you read from the beginning of this thread? If you still need help with motivation, there are threads 1 & 2!:)

See which gives you the most reading material.
And Champix started being used in 2006, about the same time as e-cigs started being used by lots of people. So in a way we're all guinea pigs as no one knows the long term effects of Champix either.
There are plenty of health warnings about Champix, from all the major health organisations. Wikipedia gives a maximum abstinence rate of 33.2%.
What do they say about e-cigs? Not a lot, it's not proved that it is a viable NRT (you only need to look at the vaping forums to see how often it works) and it contains nicotine, that's about it. That it's not proved it's safe, yet there are plenty of stories about how unsafe Champix is, none about e-cigs.
Y'know, if we're going to be honest, lets get the whole story out, shall we?
NRT gum has a pretty bad time on google as well.
Bottom line is I am free of nicotine,40 to 60 mgs of nicotine is a lethal dose for an adult, you are still poisining your body kidding yourself you don't smoke by calling it vaping.

Can I just point out one thing, you can use e-cigs without the nicotine, you buy cartridges or liquid that don't contain it most people don't seem to realise this. So for anyone who enjoys the feeling of smoking they can use the e-cig without any nicotine or anything harmful at all......right said my piece will butt out nowNeed to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

To answer your reasonable question and I'd love to answer the other one, but we said we wouldn't do this any more...
I came here to explain to anyone who wanted to know anything about e-cigs, whatever I could help to explain. I haven't dared support people in general in case I was accused of trying to get them onto e-cigs.
But you may see that I have a fair smattering of other posts.
I didn't realise that there was a policy, that if you post on this thread you have to support every person publicly. I think you may have personally let down yourself on this one.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

Thank you oldreekie (great name by the way) I am cracking through a few pages every day to keep the motivation and of course Eddie goes on about the 29th every night now
:D
i have decided to go cold turkey just because it worked for me for a long time last time and as I know it will be painful anyway then I may as well just bite the bullet. I did massively increase my food intake last time as I figured I deserved it  but I wont be doing that this time - it was far more painful in truth losing the horrific 2 stone I laid down.
The debate over whats the best way to give up reminds me of diets in a way, slimfast v slimming world v weight watchers etc everyone praises their own technique the most but the truth is there is no easy answer for either giving up smoking or losing weight.
Anyway back to the reading - lots to get through29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
