Evening all, hope everyone is getting on ok x
Work was fine and I felt less stressed than usual - which suprised me as I thought everyone was exagerating about the effect of nasty nic on stress levels.
I felt ok driving home too and actually forgot about it until much later this evening was I was doing the on-line shop and didn't need to go to the tobacco counter. (More pennies for my pocket instead).
I did treat myself to the half price Gok bath set (the big one) in the Boots sale - which arrived tonight so it did help distract me a little. Might have to go and make use of the smellies in a mo.
Keep going everyone, we are stronger than the nicotine monster. This time I haven't smoked since 6th Jan 2014 and still going ok.
Fingers crossed x0 -
Hi all,
Feeling a nasty old bat today  so have been for a loooong walk ,muttering under my breath :free, breathe caz..free breathe and breathe again..: well it worked ao will do this again
Thanks to all who replied to me at the end of the last thread, as it's closed unable to click the thanks button.
Not so cold today, and slept well .today have started back on the ni.quitin patches and yes, i do take it off when i go to bed. The ice pops are lovely especially when i sit and watch telly in the evening, will definitely get some more.
Thank you all for your support and advice, It's like my hand is being held on my journey to becoming smoke free.

Oh so there's room for a sensible guy to come to his senses some day then! Whatever happens, Mat_Lock - DON'T allow him to drag you back! How could I have used that phrase!!!!
Hi hattie and well done on your day - Day 4!!!...even if it was tough, it will get a whole lot easier, I promise you. Give yourself fully into that exercise class, though you're possibly there already. Don't worry too much about the sweets, make them a temporary fixture for the now, then wean yourself off sweet by sweet. Otherwise very, very well done!!! :j By the way, if you're the equivalent of a CPN then why not take a bottle of water to work, it'll help with your 'moments' and your sweeties!
Fantastic news, Penelope!!! :j:T:j It's so very good when we all realise that fags really do cause the stress we used to feel soooo much!!! All in all you've had a wonderful day...whatever you're doing is working so keep it up!
Well done on rewarding yourself, you all should be rewarding yourselves. Let's face it you thought you were before by having a fag after a job.....but that's a gift of possible death - stick with your Gok bathset or anything else that really makes you feel good!! You've all earned it.
Keep chatting folks, you're all doing well AND helping each other here too! It's a joy to see.
See you later.

Please everyone, as Jammy said over the page: Let us all - and you - know just how long you've quit for and the method used in the bar above.
eg. 3 days, cold turkey
Thanks so much folks it helps everyone (including those just viewing the thread) as you'll soon see. It helps folk know where you are and gives them feedback of methods used etc.
Thanks everyone.

I told him that soon he should quit and if he wants to smoke to either smoke it directly out the window or go outside, and to shut his door.
I'm fine this evening though, spent my evening walking round Asda buying food, then came home and ate and now just chilling, going to put on a film soon. No urges at all at the moment.0 -
Mat it is difficult when your housemate smokes, I quit when one of my housemates smoked and the other didn't, but when the first one quit we all took our cancer sticks outside.
Just be firm! And very well done so far, you're doing fantastically better than I did on my first day. At one point putting my head inside the brick wall seemed amazingly fascinating and my OH wanted to go rent a strait jacket!~Nym~

Oh buddies what a laugh tonight
I have been chewing gum ( non nicotine ) alongside the patches to help me.
Anyhoo hubby had been buying this vile EXTRA stuff, that was really burning my tongue, so when we went to Tesco, I put some gentle stuff into the trolley.
So there I am sat, with a house full of friends and colleagues/ employees, all congratulating us on our abstention ( nothing more likely to make ya need a fag eh ?? )
Discreetly swallowed a small peice of gum ........ Turns out it was " fluid filled gum" - some kind of breath freshening almost " locket " type set up, with loads of GOO in the middle !!
Well I reacted just as any lady would, with an unexpected deposit of liquid in her mouth...cough splutter choke.
Disaster, much hilarity at my expense, but , most importantly, our first boozy night SANS cigs, passing without calamity !
I am pleased with myself !!
A little tiddly so off to bed with a smug grin - another hurdle overcome !!I don't know much, but I know I love you ....<30
