Well, as of 8:30am it will be offically 7 full days without a cigarette.
Small steps in the broader range of things, but a full week without them and to be honest, do i miss them? No!
I feel quite good!
Keep up the good work everyone!0 -

Well done everyone and thank you for your continued support. Have said "no" to people offering me cigs, not with a wish I had said yes, but with full meaning and I don't want one!
Not sure how to track my progress. As I haven't personally bought cigs since I joined the thread, my original silkquit metre shows me how much money I have saved but maybe if I start again it would be better to track actual smoke free time..... suggestions on a postcard pleaseLoan - [STRIKE]£6991.95[/STRIKE]£6180.01; Barclays Res - [STRIKE]£600[/STRIKE] £0 - £22 per week , NWB Grad O/D - [STRIKE]£1185[/STRIKE] £887.86 18.28% SWALEC - [STRIKE]£700[/STRIKE] £0 NPOWER [STRIKE]£220[/STRIKE] £0 Kays - [STRIKE]£591.28[/STRIKE] £0 TOTAL DEBT - [STRIKE]£10,288.23[/STRIKE] £7,000.01 31.96 % Paid off. no keep it as it is Kat, it will be disheartening otherwise and it really was a blip (1 evening) rather than a full blown relapse. I now say "its been 2 months & 19 days since I gave up smoking" rather than since I smoked

Can I ask as well, has anyone had a really bunged up nose? I lost the cough but now have to blow my nose way too frequently for my liking (it's even been pointed out in work)

I smoked my first cigarette in July 1973 on a train from Jever to Bremerhaven. Hopefully I smoked my last one yesterday morning at 11.00am. I have to do this or I risk losing all my teeth and I'm not ready to do that just yet.
I cannot use nicotine patches because I have a skin condition and any NRT that you put in your mouth just makes me retch, so I'm going Cold Turkey and not enjoying it one bit. I have some really unpleasant symptoms and I'm wondering how long they will take to go away.
Previous attempts have failed, but I really need to do it this time and yes, before anyone says anything about motives, I do want to, deep down.

Thanks everyone for our support. This is really unpleasant, but I'm not sure how much is withdrawal and how much is because I have not been tolerating my thyroid meds since Saturday. It's difficult to differentiate between the two sets of symptoms, but sleeping with the window wide open and no duvet can't be normal for March.
Feel myself very close to cracking at the moment, mostly I think because I have not had a full night's sleep since Friday because Mr P has a cold and is snoring like a warthog.
Currently feel really hot and weak. Not nice at all.
I haven't said anything to Mr P and he doesn't seem to have noticed yet. I wonder how long it will be before he does? We are not home together until Wed night.
