    You could not provide a ticket to prove that you had paid for the journey.

    You were arrested on suspicion of theft (I suspect or similar offense appropriate to the railways)

    They found your ticket.

    You were released.

    I think you are lucky the police helped you search. The police are allowed to arrest people on suspicion of an offense and the suspicion was valid because you were not able to produce a ticket on demand.

    No compensation allowed. End of!
