Congratulations Becles. I agree that it is a massive achievement and there's no way I could have done it.

I started expressing at around 4 weeks but it ruined my nipples! I think it's coz I had a tommee tippee manual breastpump aka instrument of torture!

    Awesome achievement Becles :D

Susan it is lovely to see you making up for weeks of not posting ;):):p so glad you're feeling a bit better.

Today has been a nightmare, Miss M has a nose like a dripping tap and has been UPUPUP but immediately climbing down, scratching me, throwing tantrums and generally awful :o and Husband was up all night with her so spent half the day in bed. I am about to go and lock myself in the bathroom for an hour.

  • LOL Susan I'm here just trying to get t to take a nap, is moaning in cot at mo. I did the expressing thing too is one good thing about GF book as suggests expressing to help bring up supply, plus gives mum a break. Wow you did a spreadsheet, I was feeding t a beg every 2 hours for about an hour day and night, did drop as was quicker but on days like today when unsettled and refuses to nap indoors I feel like I'm constantly feeding him.

You obviously don't know me well enough yet - I have spreadsheets for almost everything.

  • Afternoon all. I've not been in an age (well it seems that way anyway). Hello to all the new mummies :0) And a few old names are back too!

We went to a party for kids who turned 2 recently - it was at the library and run by the local sure start centres and HVs. We had a lovely time - we made party hats and decorated cakes, and sang songs, and got a fab party bag to take home with us :) And my mum came round to see us this afternoon, and so I've got loads done (well, tidied and hoovered the living room anyway, as well as washing up and clothes and making sure we don't gp hungry, so not too bad really.)

I did have something intelligent to post, but i'm too busy laughing at Susan's breastfeeding spreadsheet. I wish that I kept note of more things like that. I have no idea now exactly how much Izzy was feeding, but I know I did feel at one point that I would never leave the sofa again. as others have said, it is loads easier when you start mnagng to do other things at the same time. I discovered I could play playstation, or read a book (couldn't get away with either of them now!) and the internet of course :)

I did some uni study while I breast fed :D I put that in my notes I wrote about the course:

Well done on the expressing. That was something I never managed to get the hang of.
Here I go again on my own....

    :p

I am slightly puzzled as to why it is so funny though.

Becles.....congratulations hon on your degree.....you have given me the kick up the bum I needed to search through and have a shortlist of 3 courses now, so need to decide which one and register...tbh I can't wait to get back into it, and get my degree finished too:)

Susan, just PM me your address and i'll stick it straight round the post box:D

That is quite a good idea about budgetting extra to catch-up...might work, for next month. I just need to try and find £660 by the end of this month and another £150 by the first week of feb......and buy food, electric and fuel on top of that out of drip drip income of about £800....Hmmmmmmmmmmmm, i'm sure i'll manage it, i usually think of something:)

Hi ladies - I've just passed a blood clot about the size of a 50p, 8 days after the birth. Is this normal or should I ring the midwife? I haven't been resting as much as I should do if that's possibly why...
