Hey all,
One week back at work and I vanished off the radar! It's been a good week but I've been so shattered at the end of each day. 5 more to go and then I can relax and count down for baby's arrival . . .
mum2one, hospital bag will all be sorted today. I know I keep saying that but there seems to always be something else to put in or iron or organise. Might have a last shopping trip out to get some more bras. I've brought maternity pj's and a nightie so have the choice, hopefully I'll be ok.
Not much else to report from me money wise, need to go ans update my spreadsheet and check all my bills today and also need to try and drum up some more business with the embroidery. Delivery completed orders today so that might get word around a little more. Fingers crossed!
Have a good weekend all. xxxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Good luck with the bag, hope you don't mind me being cheeky, - when I had DD was taken in and admitted, (coz of medical history, dodgy back), left on pre-ward, then eventually moved to delievery suite, then ward, what we were advised to do by the midwife at our anti-natel, was to pack a small bag, clean night dress, old undies, essentail toilettries, towel, few snacks, drinks, that way, your not routeing though the main bag, as there was no where in our hosp to store bags in delievery (yours may be different),
I remember thinking another cart in, but it meant that the dirties could go straight home, and freshen up without worrying about having to move everything.
Your be fine, - the only other thing suggest (sorry don't mean to mother hen), is there chance you can get some meals batch baked for the freezer, if hubby running round, at least he chuck homemade meal into microwvae, and when your back home, there be a few meals to give you some space. xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
mum2one - I appreciate all your 'mother henning' so don't apologise. OH spent all day last Sunday batch cooking so the freezer is full of chillli, stew, bolognese etc. He's a star and that should give us some breathing space.
At next weeks antenatal class we get to see the delivery suite and birthing centre so I might know more then about how it is all organised there. Yay!
Managed to spend just under £100 in mothercare yesterday but the lady in the shop was lovely and helped us out by finding £15 worth of money off vouchers that we could apply to our shopping which really helped. Good customer ervice at its best.
Plan for today is:
1) Wash all new baby clothes.
2) Clean bathroom.
3) Mark 30 comprehension books brought home.
4) Update finances.
5) Add photos of completed customer orders to embroidery page on facebook.
6) Plan staff training I'm completing at school this week.
7) Have chat with friend who is visiting.
8) Visit dad as he's been working away for a week.
9) Food shopping.
10) Ironing/ clean clothes away.
Though probably not in that order. With such a busy list I'm not going to visit church this morning (plus I'm starting to find the benches really uncomfortable for an hour!) but still better for and get dressed and get started.
Have a good Sunday all! xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

Well I completed all that was on my list and am now debating writing a new list but am too tired so:
1) Have a nap.
2) Re-visit list writing when I am refreshed.
Hope everyone ok. Am counting down days to completing school... 3 if you wondered.Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

Hope you have a good weekend, shattered here, but got gd excuse, just had 5 days in Prague, it was amazing, chilling now before get head back into OU study xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Well it's day 1 in the maternity leave house... :j
Now we're on countdown to baby balanced with allowing myself to chill out and prepare myself. House is ready, bag is ready so it really is just making sure I've switched off from work and any other stresses and can get truly ready.
We've been spending far too many pennies this weekend but am pleased with our purchases. For starters we invested in a dyson! We realised in 5 years we've purchased 3 vacuum cleaners, each at about £50 a time and they don't last, particularly with dog hair and we want to make sure we can have a nice clean house for baby! So after shopping around we got one from Mr T which had £100 off, plus a £10 voucher code found online plus £14.50 in clubcard vouchers. Then we bought it on our Mr T credit card so earnt more points and paid it straight off out of last few pennies in savings account. Phew!
Also had a Sunday trip to Ikea and spent more money there buying cushions, throws and rugs as our living room was looking very bare. Feels much cosier now but need to reign the spending in until pay day.
Got a few jobs today pottering about and my little sis is coming tonight for tea as parents are both on shifts so that should mean for a nice first day off work. Woop. xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Day 2 of maternity leave and so far I've filled my time with eating and sleeping.
Sleeping has been good and I feel better for it, not sure the eating is a wise move but I've really been in the mood to pick and have worked my way through cereal, crisps, sandwiches, yoghurt and biscuits. Might have an apple next so I feel that I'm actually being healthy.
8 days till payday which will be the last month I get normal pay so need to be really careful in managing funds. Hmmm... xxxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Promise that I didn't eat myself into oblivion yesterday, instead just had a busy day which is why I didn't end up posting.
Started with last antenatal class which was all about when baby comes. OH had to dress a doll which was quite fun to watch! Then went to visit a friend which was nice just to have a natter.
Today I'm off to a breastfeeding class which should be interesting but both yesterdays and todays classes are at the hospital which means paying hospital parking. Considered getting the train instead but think the costs are about the same and I don't know if I have the energy to walk between stations. SIGH.
Can't believe it's Thursday already. Where does the week go when you're at home?!Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Well have started the day with some shopping ... decided for the first time ever to brave the next sale. Ergh ... an experience I don't need to repeat in a hurry.
I live in walking distance of a small next so thought I'd potter over after feeding the dog, the queue was already around the block and when the doors opened it was mayhem. Almost frightening! Women just barge in and grab stuff off the hangers without even looking at it. Some of them had armfuls, it really was crazy!
Was disappointed that there was NO baby stuff on sale, there were items from 3 months up but that's gender specific and I don't know what I'm having. SIGH. And then I don't know what size I'm going to be following birth so couldn't even really treat myself.
However, I tried to be positive and got a couple of Xmas pressies by buying outfits for my niece and nephew. Don't know if I'm pleased with bargains or I just rushed into buying for the sake of it as I was there.
Can't win! :cool:Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0
