Don't you hate that depressing feeling when you check the bank statement and even though it's pay day you have mere pennies left in you account! I wouldn't mind but it's not even as if all my bills and payments have gone out either. SIGH!
On the plus side, I phoned Tesco to update my car insurance following the move and they are paying me back £56!!Benefits of a better postcode and a driveway! Plus as I paid for it in Jan on my credit card (the balance of which I paid off with my loan rebate) this is now an extra payment on my credit card towards other debts. Woop!
Got to be really really frugal this month to get back on track and try and sort out new house and things needed. Fingers crossed we can still make some inroads on debts.
Hope everyone has had a happy payday! xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Well at last the weekend is here! :j Though I'm so tired I fear that I may just sleep my may through it!
Ha!
A busy weekend ahead as still have loads of boxes to sort out, a wardrobe to build, new bills and direct debits to set up, as well as all the normal stuff like shopping, cleaning, school work. Oh and my DH volunteered us to run a BBQ to raise money for the greyhound kennels tomorrow so that's the day gone. SIGH... Though it's all for a good cause. My favourite charity.
Am home alone tonight so am just debating whether to sit around and chill or actually start some school work.
Off to update sig with payments so far for the month, am pleased debts are still ticking away even with the house move.
Hope everyone has a good weekend planned ahead. Much love!Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Well Monday has rolled around again. YAWN!
Had a lovely weekend but don't really know where it went! And I spent a fortune. Oops. Friday OH went out so I was very naughty and stayed at home with takeaway pizza. Saturday there was a silent auction at the BBQ and I got carried away and won 3 out of the 6 items, spending a total of £50. Sunday I went to a carboot and bought lots of things I don't really need. And through all of that only one more box got unpacked and a did about an eighth of the amount of work I was supposed to do.
However, I am still ticking away at debts and have updated my sig to show progress against the 11 in 11 target.
Paid £50 to inlaws, £181.94 to loan and £146.62 to credit card. All good progress...
Hope everyone had a good weekend and have a good week ahead!Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Sounds like a good weekend, but the thing is, if you didn't have a treat ocassionally, and every penny wents to debts, we'd all flip and want a mad spending spree.
Hope your not working too hard xxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Happy Saturday!
Got to love the weekend....
And for the first time in ages, actually get to stay in the house and do some jobs. Am feeling productive....
Have started the day with a nice walk with the dog, via Costa to treat myself to an iced coffee. Then went to the bank to pay in a cheque (a lovely rebate from council tax on the flat) so happy with that.
Plan for the rest of the day:
Need to sort out all bills for new house and set up direct debits so a bit of time online.
Fill in forms to change address for driving licence and car ownership.
Am going to unpack boxes in nursery so I can actually evaluate what I have and what I don't.
Unpack boxes in study so I can sort out all post and paerwork for renting etc.
Unpack photos and ornaments so can start to make the house look like home again.
Maybe do a bit of school work. Maybe.
Have a good day all, lets see how I get on.

Hey loumac, sounds like you are really getting organised! I too have huge boxes of mamas and papas stuff from ebay!! I am in the process of going through all my stuff in the room that will be the nursery to try adn figure out space and what we've actually got!! Am supposed to be ebaying but am too busy chatting on here.
OOOhhhh so jealous of your iced coffee, I am addicted to them at the moment, especially the st*r bucks caramel coffee ones, **insert homer drooling face/noise here**0 -
How's the ebaying going missymoo?
One of my plans for the summer is to carboot everything I now don't need. We have so much baby stuff we definitely need to make some space. Particularly as all the grandparents (3 sets in total as my parents are separated and remarried) are vying for who can buy the most!
Things are quiet over here at the minute. Mostly because I have totally lost my voice! Oops! I've had a cold for about 3 days and have done nothing but sleep when I've got home from work and although I feel better, teaching with no voice has been a challenge!
We've had tenants in the flat now for two months and they've paid on time both months so am happy that's gone well. However, due to fees from agent we still haven't received the full amount of money to make a months mortgage payment. Grrr... Off to update the spreadsheet and see how that affects us...Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Nothing to report from me as have been full of cold and flu and cold and sore throat and aches and pains and headaches and no voice and...well I don't like to moan!

First day of the summer holidays is here! Blissful! :j
Am having a nice pottering about day today with OH... when he wakes up from his alcohol induced slumber that is. Oops. Benefit of pregnancy, no hangover in 7 months!!
We need to pop out though so will poke him soon as I need to buy a swimming cossie. Three of my very lovely friends have booked the day off work on Monday to take me to the spa for my belated birthday treat. Yay! Though maternity swimwear does not come cheap the day itself won't cost me anything so I shouldn't moan.
However, I am shockingly overdrawn this month as we got caught up with the 'bargain' of a second hand dining table and dresser that we found on gumtree and each spent £200 of our overdrafts to buy it all. Dining room looks lovely though and I am excited at the thought of the first ever christmas dinner not eating off our laps. I think it's baby that makes us want to nest and make a proper 'grown up' house!
Nothing else really to report. It's miraculous how the thought of nearly 6 weeks off work can make you feel much healthier as already my cold is going. The sun is shining and I'm generally feeling positive about life.
Hope everyone else enjoying their weekends so far! xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0
