Well it's Sunday so just did my update of my finances spreadsheet before being paid tomorrow!
Am very pleased that, although I've felt as though we've had a few bad weeks spending we started the month well so things look pretty good.
In March, we have paid £796.84 off debts, an overpayment of £214.90. Our overpayments this year total £568.46 which I'm so pleased with as if it wasn't for the focus of MSE I know this is money that would have easily been frittered away. On top of this I have £223 in my own account and we have £75 in our joint account, all before payday! I think once direct debits have gone out for debts to start April some of this will need to move to savings for baby/ new house plans.
Glad that's perked me up as I've spent yet another day sleeping or being sick and have once again done no school work! It's really starting to build up... oops!
Here's hoping for a week without sickness or unnecessary spending. xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -

Happy mothers day to all the mums, nans, auntys and wonderful women out there! What a beautiful sunshiny day it is to celebreate special family members.
If not an expensive one! Ha! With mum and step mum and mother in law to buy for it's never a cheap day. Plus we're out for a meal later.
Anyway......!
I think our debt repayment plans are all about to go out of the window! We had some agents come to see our flat yesterday to look at putting it on the market for rent as we've found somewhere that we would really like to rent. Get set for plenty of spending on deposits and charges! Eeek! Exciting and scary all at once. We've managed to sort out some savings from all the bits left over in accounts but I still suspect we may have to borrow from parents to get ourselves moved in.
Oh well, am pleased we're making progress though and could in fact be in a new house before the end of the month. Yay! xxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
So signature updated with this months payments included.
I've actually underpaid by about £120 this month as one of our payments is to the inlaws and as we may be about to borrow off them again we just paid them £50 for now. I'm still impressed to have paid 28% of my total original debt at the beginning of the year.
Our flat is officially up for rent. Eek! And tomorrow we're hoping to pay the £200 holding deposit on the house we've found that we want to rent. However, she's ready to move and we're not so will have to see whether this all goes to plan or goes belly up!
I think with baby on the way and changing where we're living I'm going to try not to worry too much but obviously monitor the situation!
As always, will keep you up to date.Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
thats absolutely brilliant about the house, sounds like its come at the time, remember my best mate and her hubby moving from 1 bed flat to a house, their baby was 10 days old, luckly they only moved 2 streets.
yep mothers day is certainly fun getting them sorted, poor dd, got me, my mum, my aunty who took over role of other nanna from day 1, then this yr 1st mothers day buying for her grandmother in Ireland - thou the parcel cost me £6 to post, the contents - were £2.60!!
I love the sales at Claires esp the bag 10 things for £3, usually bargains, Irish grandmother - handbag £2 instead of £20 and from the lucky bags brooch (£10 tag), and a coresgae (£10 tag) - I remembered to take off all the sale prices, but I accidently forget to take the original tags off!! xxxx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Well it's the easter hols and I am so glad to have some time off work! I have however spent the past two days doing nothing but packing boxes.
We have our first viewing booked on the flat tomorrow so am keeping everything crossed and it means that I could actually be moving house within the week. Eek!
We have a wedding on Sunday first though and I went out shopping Saturday to find an outfit. Have had to wait to see how fat I got and I think through all the hormones got confused as I bought 3 dresses but no shoes or accessories! Oops. Not sensible seeing as we need to pay a £925 deposit if we get the house we want!!

Well no news on yesterdays viewing so looks like we're hanging fire here for a little while longer.
Having a bit of a rant at OH at the minute as we've out a £200 holding deposit on the property we want but I've found somewhere basically two roads away, bigger and just as nice if not nicer and £100 a month less. Both propertys are up with the same agent though and he's too scared to call and enquire about the second property in case we offend someone and lose the £200!! I think if we could get the other we'd get that money back within two months and save so much more over the year.
We don't even know if they'll rent to us as we have a dog so this may all be pointless but I wish he'd just do as I've asked and call!!
Also found out today that the most local nursery to where I work (as in, it's at my school!) is £155 a week. Hmmm... babies are expensive! :rotfl:Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
Another sunny day! How beautiful! Nothing makes me happier.
We've had a hectic but fab few days as went to a friend's wedding in Stratford on Sunday and as OH was usher it meant we were pretty busy. It also means I've lost a day as Sunday felt like Saturday and yesterday felt like Sunday etc etc. Wedding was stunning but we stopped over which came at the bargain price of £120!
Have had a lovely day today as me and OH went to a national trust property and gardens in Worcester (my parents have membership so we borrowed their card!) and then into Worcester city centre for a bimble.
Only down side to all this fun in the sun is money (as usual!!). On Friday I had to get a new tyre on my car as one had worn down really unevenly which cost me nearly £50 and then the fitter said it was uneven as something else was broken. Took car today to get that repaired to find out that a suspension coil had also broken so total bill came in at £202.72. SIGH.
OH is off work all week which is nice after a week at home alone last week so we're planning to get to our allotment and make a start. Between being sick and sleeping I've not been up for it this year so far!
Hope everyone out there is well! xxxWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0 -
What's this? Yet more sunshine? So why is it I just want to stay inside and sleep!?
I think I know the end of the holidays is coming near and I'm getting that tired anxious feeling about going back to work. I've done no school work over easter and have loads of books to mark and check. OH is out playing cricket all day today and I know if I just make a start I'll get into it but....
No updates money wise, am just waiting desperately for payday. Two weeks at home with no money and weddings and car breakdowns and baby purchases mean that I've gone massively into my overdraft this month. Disappointed with myself but will try and resolve it.
Still no one interested in our flat and we lost the house we wanted too as someone was able to move earlier. Hoping we get our £200 deposit back as it wasn't us that's pulled out. We'll see!
Off to have a little powernap and see if I can discover some energy needed to do some school work.
Have a happy St George's day all. xWandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...0
