    Hiya everyone

Another day of de-cluttering and tidying. Although I went back to work last Wednesday it does feel strange having all these 'Sundays'

I for one would like it to carry on, not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow :( much prefer to be at home.

We walked up the town yesterday, not because we really needed anything, it was just a chance to get out and walk. I was spoilt last week when I went back to work as OH was still off and took me to work and picked me up.

DSS1 and his GF are due here for tea later, gammon, red cabbage, leeks in cheese sauce and mash. Think OH also wants mashed carrot and parsnip...hmmm he can do it, I don't like parsnip :rotfl:

I have joined the £1 a day, only decided today so had to find £3 also have no money box at the moment, so its gone into my knicker drawer:rotfl: will try and sort some sort of container out, think I have a coffee jar in the cupboard that will do.

Have a good evening everyone xxx

    Welcome all newbies :)

It's absolutely freezing here :( One of my friends said it's snowing in Cardiff so I checked the weather but we are not due any here today, but maybe later this week. I'm tempted to put my 2nd storage heater on tonight, but then again I'm back in work tomorrow so probably won't need it.

I've made £37 on musicmagpie from old CDs  (thanks NPM!!), and I'll prob make another £10 with some old DVDs but will list those next weekend. I need to copy some of the CDs before I send them off later in the week.

Took one look at the weather forecast for Wednesday and decided to hightail it back home this afternoon rather than tomorrow. Threw all our belongings into the car at daughters in Lakes and came down the M6 home to Cheshire. Motorway was busy but moving well - very few trucks but lots of loaded up cars heading south probably from New Year in Scotland.

Sadly when I walked in the door it was clear that all the xmas decorations had not put themselves away so that looks like tomorrows job plus all the washing and ironing. Will have to be up early as I have loads to do, meal plans to think about, and the fridge and freezer to get into some sort of order.

Still getting Xmas cards that were posted mid December !

Glad to see that most of you are feeling more upbeat and cheerful -its seemed a long time since we were all planning Xmas and I think most people are glad now to get back to a normal routine.

    Afternoon all,

Spent most of the day up till now getting a doctor who would see OH, getting there, finding an open chemist who had the prescribed antibiotic and persuading OH to have some lunch out....he ate half so result I suppose. He has a chest infection and shooting pains in his head and is feeling weak....dr gave him a letter to take to hospital if he feels any worse so am happy that I have that, hope that a couple of the children will drop in and try to persuade him to go in....he thinks that the antibiotics will work overnight....we'll see.

Cold here but a lovely bright day....we are apparently promised some of the nasty white stuff later in the week, hoping it doesn't happen, my life has been on hold due to the same b***dy stuff for the last five weeks....enough!

Heat on 24/7 here as OH is feeling the cold....will be able to turn down when heat from fire kicks in.

Collecting DD4 and DGS2 at 11.20 tonight from airport and leaving here at 5.30 am to-morrow to take DS2 to airport to go back to work in London....wonder if he would be happy to sleep at airport....nah, won't even suggest it.

Halight...thought that you were a nice man but see now that you are a nasty piece of work.....roll on the day when the twins knock some sense into you !

Seem to be haemorrhaging money since Jan began.....€78 to doctor and chemist this morning, never mind the petrol, think that might be putting cents into my savings rather than euro! Only think I haven't spent on yet is food so might save some that way....but its only 3rd.

Have a good day all, stay safe and warm

Thanks Dundee - but there is no link!!

I've just made my beef part to the lasagna, and the pasta (although added an extra egg to recipe as tried to make it in the food processor and then knead it and it didn't come together at all!
Sauce and pasta both need an hour so will wait till OH gets home nd then embark on the cheese sauce.

there is so much sauce i think we will easy get some leftover sauce which i can keep - do you think i could make ravioli from it and freeze till we need it?[/QUOTE]

Mental note to self...................ALWAYS check you've put the link in.......................:rotfl::rotfl:

    Sounds a fab idea!

thanks for that , cheese sauce worked brilliantly. I was really impressed with my lasagna (OH not so much, said the other sauce i make has more flavour) but i'm proud nonetheless.

Got about 5 portions left which i will freeze when it's cooled down. They can be lunches/dinners for me for the rest of the month.

    Afternoon everyone!

A neighbour of ours turned up yesterday with an unusual gift. Two pheasants and two ducks - complete with heads, feet and feathers!! I am really pathetic and couldnt have done anything with them. OH is much braver than me and disappeared down to the garden shed this morning then returned with 4 duck breasts and 4 pheasants breasts on a plate (bless him).

Pheasants are cooking in the oven as we speak and the duck has gone in the freezer for a later date.

Kids were strangely fascinated by the dead birds. Although we live in the countryside they dont often make the connection between the animals around us and whats on their plate. Going to be interesting to see whether they make any comment as they get served their braised pheasant, mash and veg.

OMG Marie I had a tena lady moment there :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Halight quick, you'll need to do something to redeem your reputation, buy her a potted plant to go with the stardrops :D (need to update your siggy too ;) )

Well I am just in from the movies, I thoroughly recommend The Tourist, very good fun, good plotline, and a nice twist at the end. Very reminiscent of Hitchcock - without the atmosphere though - Johnny Depp as a modern day Cary Grant, who'd have thunk it?

OH and the boys are away to visit his mum and sister, and I am pottering, I am making fajitas for dinner because I want them :)

Bitsy have a huge hug, and last but certainly not least, welcome to all the newbies over the last couple of days :j:j:j

well went got our wallpaper and paint :) £123  but its all covered in vouchers. we got stuck in awful traffic as home match was on and b&q is right by the staduim.

then went to morrisons and got food for the rest of the week. now no need to go unless we run out of milk. so far £32 this week but that included few bits for new years eve. we've not had to buy meat or anything like that though.

jackieg - just had my fajitas. early as both boys were hungry. alan keeps moaning he's hungry as he's not being fed as much :rotfl: what do you put in yours being veggie?
