If you've had a system installed, you should have recieved yearly estimated figures from your installer.

If not, input your details here for some estimated figures:

Click on "Europe" under "Interactive access to solar resource and photovoltaic potential:"

Just had some fun playing with that. Couldn't understand it, not got PV but after a while got brain in gear. Thought there'd be more difference especially Scotland or London, expected Spain to be 4 times more. How can Sweden be the same as London. i probably made a mistake.

The capital cities of both Sweden & UK appear to be in the same zone of solar radiation, depicted by a greeny yellow on the maps .
Though the major factor must be latitude, it would appear that clarity of the air is important, as zones free of fogs, mists and other atmospheric pollutants, especially those up mountains and with winds off the sea score higher than inland industrial zones at equivalent latitudes.

Blossom, my brother-in-law lives in Stockholm. We went for a lazy relaxing holiday in early June some years ago - never been so tired.

One evening we were chatting in the flat and someone said, well time for bed. Checked watch as it was still very light, and it was gone 10pm.

One morning woke up to a fully lit room, despite curtains, and blinds that are actually inside the triple glazing (what a great idea). So decided to read, rather than get up. Wifey woke up an hour later and asked me the time, it was now 5am!!!! Hadn't realised and tried to get some more sleep, too damn bright.

Winter is the opposite sunrise to sunset, is around 11am to 3pm, ouch!

    Mart.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.
  • In mid summer there is more solar radiation at the North Pole than at the Tropics, provided the weather is clear and bright (it usually isn't) due to the 24 hour days.

The visitors book at the North Cape has lots of comments along the lines of "What a rip off, I can't see more than 50 yards because of the fog".
  • On the 6th of january it will be one year since we registered for the FIT tariff. Taking my readings from today we will have made £1957 from the FIT tariff alone. :j:j This is way above what was predicted, but I guess some years may be below the expected to balance this. I have to say I am very pleased with my investment so far. It's a lovely sunny day today as well:p

Looks believable, my SB3300 racked up 4500kwh exactly on the 12 month FIT's anniversary back at the beginning of November.
  • Current reading is 4464kWh. Today alone we have produced 10.64kWh. Although I will admit today is a bit unusual.

On course to produce 10kwh here in Lincolnshire so yes a little unusual sunshine-wise. Yesterday for instance we fell just short of 2kwh all day :(.
You due south? Mines 3.96kwp facing SSW 205° on a 35° slope.
Limited by the SB3300 to 3.6kwp max.

  • Yes, directly south. In sunny Essex. Yesterday was really poor here as well.
