we have a disabled son,who doesnt move around a lot and he wont keep anything on his feet,so there always cold,we have total control heating which isnt much use, living in aviemore this winter so far its been about -18 most nights and not much warmer during the day and with the amount of snow we had he was off school for over a week, with his autism he has a bad habit of stripping of,so trying to keep him warm is a problem.we wanted to put a multi fuel burner in the living room as thats where he spends most of his time, does anyone know if you can get a government grant to help towards the cost of this and fitting it?

Isn't there a grant called forever warm homes sponsored by the Govt I think it insulates your roof space , and provides new efficient heating boilers.0

How old is your son?
Could you buy one of those fluffy all in one suits I've seen, I'll try and have a look. I think you can buy ones that zip up the back so he would not find it as easy to get off.
ETA: Have a look here

They have one designed as superman, spiderman, football styled ones etc. They're not that cheap but would possibly reduce your heating costs.Thrifty Till 50 Then Spend Till the End
You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time0 -
