Good luck with the CV joint!
Did some bits on the car yesterday, DH still cant decide which one can go when we no longer need a 2nd car for the school run in Sept, the one with 140k that weve had for 7 years and has been amazing, or the one with 103k thats been in the family for 10 years since new but occasionally get a dashboard like the Blackpool illuminations :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

Good luck with the CV joint!
Thanks..I'm going to need it.

I've had connect four on my dashboard before (with a previous car) :eek:, while driving down an A road at 70mph :eek:, then all power dissapeared :eek:...you know what's coming don't you??? The words no man or woman who owns a car wants to hear :rotfl:, "your timing belts snapped and killed your engine". It was like piston sphagetti in there :rotfl:.... On a funnier note, it was the top half of the engine that was hammered. Found and won, a replacement engine on ebay, for a stunning pound :rotfl::rotfl:.I'm not winding you up... I think I have the ebay slip in the loft somewhere.
That was a happy day.
Hope your all have a good MSE week :j.😇 Sealed Pot Challenge: Member No: 20: 2012 = £92.14; 2013 = £45.27; 2014 = £54.70; 2015 = ; 2016 = £70.38 2022 = £10.58 2023 = ???? 🍀 2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD 65/365 so far. 👾 The Other Way, or the MSE Way: My Personal Challenge 🍀 The Other Way, or the MSE Way: My Personal Challenge 20120 -

:rotfl:....I told my lovely wife you said I was rude, for dropping off, she liked that
.
The car's in the process, or that's what I'm calling it anyway :rotfl:...
Thank you Mandamoo. I'm glad I'm spreading the joy.
Hope you're all having a good weekend :j.

A new engine for a £1 deserves a few :money::money::money:.
Luckily I know that it has recently had a new cam belt kit and is under manufacturers warranty (dad had it done before I bought the car off him). There is a leak that I hope I fixed at the weekend that has fed water down behind some electrics :eek: Luckily we are insured for fire :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!

I would like to think the sky would open up and magically pour £2 coins into them...I don't think that would happen though
...
As for the tips, I think the MSE'rs as a whole come up with better ideas/and approach to them. Going to give it a few more chances before I decide for definite. A golden nugget may be passed on :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:. Now that would be good...:D
Proper, really real update on our progress, this weekend :j.

Hope you’ve all been doing well with your MSE’ing. I’ll update you on our progress so far:
Linux machine:
Have found a nice second-hand machine for £10 :j, I can throw some spare bits in to get working to a good standard. Stuck in a Nvidia card I got at a car boot for £2, Wireless card £4 better than the other one now...Woo hoo. I can get on with some serious ebaying now :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:!
This means I can get to selling the other one which could fetch up to £100 plus (I bought it for £20 with a monitor – it was an easy fix). Happy days...:beer:
The old laptop we had (previous family computer) had been sat in the drawer for ages . It needed a screen – these can cost £75 plus to replace. I’d only paid £80 for at the time, so it just wasn’t worth shelling out the cash. I decided to Google the model, and set about taking it apart. The majority of the parts have sold now and I’ve managed to scrape in roughly £84 (after p&p etc. has been deducted). Not bad me thinks.
The Sealed Pot Challenge:
It’s coming along nicely...keeping up with it – looking forward to seeing how much we’ve got in December.:T
Mobile Phone:
I managed to fix the phone..woo hoo...:j***cue dancing – nothing fancy just a shuffle with a possible click of the fingers, followed by a point in your direction***:jYou know, you know it!
Surplus Wood:
Still toying with the possibilities (suggestions on a postcard please)....
Surplus stuff/Car boot:
We sold a whole wedge of stuff at the car boot for a tidy sum and had a good time too. I think we must have had a lucky day. Kept smiling, and didn’t mind a haggle. I do it on the other side of the table (so it’s only fair) – but there’s a fine line between that and taking the mickey :mad:.
We’re thinking of delving into the murky world of auctions soon (to buy and sell); wish us luck.
Hope you all have a good weekend :beer:.😇 Sealed Pot Challenge: Member No: 20: 2012 = £92.14; 2013 = £45.27; 2014 = £54.70; 2015 = ; 2016 = £70.38 2022 = £10.58 2023 = ???? 🍀 2023 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN Mrs SD 65/365 so far. 👾 The Other Way, or the MSE Way: My Personal Challenge 🍀 The Other Way, or the MSE Way: My Personal Challenge 20120 -
Hi there Inventor (aka nu1isit?
)
You always manage to make me laugh.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: My you have been busy. I know where to come for advise on selling now. I have a few bits and pieces need to pull my finger out and get on with it. I have a couple of keyboards (computer) and a mouse thing to get rid of amongst lots of house bric-a-brac. No time for booties so will be putting it all on ebay.
Have a good weekend and if you go booting hope you pick up lots of bargains and sell a few bits to get the dosh.
