    Evening all

Already far behind with the thread (good preparation for lurking from tonight), but hugs to everyone with relationship issues, esp valli, greenbee and seafarer's.

I have a clean sink and the hob is almost done, too. The meat for the shepherd's pie is in the SC, waiting in the fridge to go on in the morning (thanks for the suggestions). More washing and dishes done, friend visited, tea made and eaten. DS2 has been in the bath and fed supper, and a friend phoned to clarify stuff for tomorrow.

    Before bed I've got to:
    sort clothes for work/school
    sort bags for work/school
leave DS1 some money for bus/lunch

Think I'm coming down with a cold, so I'll dose myself up and aim to be in bed by 11pm. Good night.

Haven't got much crossed off but have totally decluttered the larder which is a week's worth of work in its own right!
DH is back to work tomorrow lunchtime so I am looking forward to some time with the kids on my own in the afternoon so the knock on effect will be that I probably won't get much of tomorrow's list done during the day and i also have to get my head around being back to school on Wednesday - with so many snow days in december it seems like ages since i was really at work if that doesn't sound too loopy.
I didn't manage to get the NYE ironing challenge done, which i am really annoyed with myself for now as the only things we iron are DH's school clothes, my school clothes and the kid's school uniforms, none of which have been worn for weeks so had I cleared it then it would have stayed clear through the holidays. Oh well, live and learn i guess. I did the HHI plus a little more and it is now a huge pile rather than a daunting mountain!
My daughter has stopped being sick - yay! but the baby started tonight - boo so lots more sicky washing to get done tomorrow and just hoping there is no more generated tonight. On the positive side he was in his highchair when he threw up lots and then he thought it would be funny to splash his hands in it and cover the entire kitchen but had he not then I probably wouldn't have cleaned the table, cleared, swept and thoroughly bleached the kitchen floor so he has been a great help in motivating me to get on with my list!

I guess I'd better stop playing around on the web and go to bed. Not quite sure how I'm going to fit everything in tomorrow, but need to start with either a walk or a run, and have a 9.30 reflexology appointment :D

Finally I got to the end of the posts, only did 13 pages but havent thanked them as am on Dh's laptop in front of the TV (go me) while watching Silent Witness and the news, it took that long.

So much to remember but bigs hugs for seafarer, all the poorlies and all those facing complicated decisions.

Loads of new peeps joining so a warm welcome to you all, and dont try to keep up with the postings at the moment as it will be a nightmare to start with until after a few weeks it settles down.

Thanks for the comments re the headaches. Its not been too bad today thank goodness, but I did buy some of those head soothe things to try if it gets bad again.

Have done some flying since tea and have prepared tea for tomorrow, all that DH will need to do is put the slow cooker on for me in the morning. Need to iron my work clothes for the week in a bit as I dont want to leave it to the morning as I know I will struggle to get up.

May not even get back in tomorrow evening as have a hair appt - note to check time!

Will start a list so that I can lose it by Wednesday which is my usual trick.

Meh. You know how I have roanes/roofer etc down on my main list? well, DH went into the shop at my insistance because I heard a weird whine (which wasn't my tinnitus) from the shop (It's a shooting/fishing shop so has quite sensitive alarm systems), and some of the ceiling has fallen down in the shop. We'll sort it out for MIL tomorrow (the shop's closed being a bank holiday in Scotland) but, it's just blxxdy typical. It could have been sorted out months if not years ago. It's all gutters and rotten plaster. Blah!!!....... or should I leave it for her to sort out herself...... (which would be mean, but might possibly teach her to deal with things as they arise)

NHS direct cold and flu symptom checker

    As soappie says...

for women: if you have a cold, you can get on with things, if you have flu you can barely get yourself to the toilet to pee

for men: manflu is potentially fatal and far worse than anything the female or junior members of your family may suffer from. It will appear long before cold or flu symptoms are fully developed, so it is unlikely that you'll ever work out which one you had :p

Children get a cold - men get flu - women get on with it :rotfl:

Wrong part of the country for Piggers..... :rotfl:

Right, off to bed ready to do the work thing in the morning. Not that I'll sleep particularly well I suspect - just checked on DD, she has a fever of 103 and that's WITH parrots inside her.

I was almost tempted to say I'll sleep with her tonight but she's 28 for heaven's sakes! I've told her to come get me if she feels any worse.

All furniture back in bedroom and curtains ironed and hung. They have shrunk, the curtains more than the linings so I'll need to take them down at the weekend and shorten the linings. Might get DH to drop the pole down a bit as they are about 2" off the floor now. DH has done a good job with the painting and I like it but don't love it. I know that sounds spoilt brattish but I'm not good with change and after 10 years it is going to take me a while to get used to a different colour. It is all lovely and clean though.

Good luck with all those going back to school/work tomorrow. Just going to set the WM and then off to bed or I'll find it too difficult to get up tomorrow.
