Morning all, hubby defo has Manflu. I did tell him if he went yesterday he would get worse but he didn't listen. So he gets home and falls asleep at 4 and wakes at 9 then back to bed and up at 3 coughing then back again and up at 8. I have a feeling i'll be playing nursey this week.

Kids are ready for sunday school and i'll do a shop run. Then there to tidy their rooms before dinner. I'll do our room while there doing theirs. House will look good for the morning.......It's gonna be a cleaning day.....I can feel it....:rotfl:

Helen big hugs and i hope your dad recovers soon.xx

Lil_me i just hope the meal plan works, i'm great at writing it out but i find it hard to stick to it.
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

soappie well done, if only you lived closer I would buy all spares :D does sound like an uncomfortable night, oh and I can't stand sleeping in a single bed so I think you're brave too. I had to in spain last year and fell out repeatedly

I wish you were nearer - I've had three four egg days in a row!

I've had a single bed for several years. My bedroom is the old garage (I let the two kids have the two larger rooms) so it's only 9' x 8' or something like that and if a double bed was in it, there'd not really be room for anything else! I could move to the front room now if I wanted as DS and DiL have moved out and put a double bed in there but I'm quite comfortable in my little garage on the side of the house, away from everyone!

And last night was better. All the animals slept on one side so I didn't feel squashed. I did shout at the kittens about 5.30am when they decided to have a rough and tumble in the passageway to my room. But they soon quietened down.

Greenbee - we have sunshine too - and it looks like it'll stay that way for an hour or three. So I'll get as much washing on the line as I can and muck out the chicken yard
I am the leading lady in the movie of my life
  • Off to bed now - popped in to see Dad earlier - he's been on a Nebuliser for 10 hours and he sounded really bad, didn't stay long as he was tired, told DD and DS. DS was very nonchalant about it [he cares but doesn't know how to show it] DD was, as I thought, very upset, asking if he was going to die, as he is 83 I thought I had better start laying the foundation of his dying at some point so I answered that I didn't know, I hoped he wouldn't but I couldn't promise anything, silly as it sounds I think she was happy with that. Mum was very tired and upset, I think that she too is realising that this is very serious and that we have to be prepared for the worst although she won't say that out loud.

Thank you for all your thoughts and prayers

    Helen x

PS Toots - thank you for your message and I am glad to hear that you are starting to get a little bit better x

we lost my F-I-L to lung cancer late last year - DD1 and DS accepted that the diagnosis was terminal, but DD2 just refused to and convinced herself that Grandad would get better. Even when he went into hospital - and both DH and I knew we'd been to say goodbye - she still wasn't taking it on board, despte our attempts to prepare her. Telling her he'd died was the hardest thing i have had to do. I don't know how old your DD is - DD2 was nearly 17 when he died. Lots of tears but she coped - everyone copes differently.

Love, hugs and prayers for you all!

Helen Jelly - thinking of you and your Dad.

Thanks to everyone who has given me helpful comments.

Re my kitchen issues - I'm going to tackle this a little at a time, but, a lot of my problem is that I have a small galley kitchen (door each end) and am completely maxed out on storage in there already - and I do serious baking every week, so have ended up having to store baking ingredients and baking equipment in one of the bedrooms - well, let's not actually use the word "store" yet, that implies a level of organisation to be achieved at some point in the future.

OH's working days vary, and are long, so I am going to save the next weekend day he is working and aim to start on the Doom Room No 1, aka is the back bedroom - which is where my kitchen stuff is at the moment! If OH's out, I can tip the whole room out onto the landing and be ruthless rather than him muttering about my mess. Think it'll take more than a day mind! And I fear the dogs may want to help rather a lot. I'm sure you'll all keep me motivated to my plan.

Meanwhile I have managed to do some flying - have decided I will aim to post my list at the end of the week so I have a sense of achievement from seeing a few things on it, rather than one or two each day if I'm lucky.

Struck a few things off my list yesterday. And have the excitement of wondering what I will be challenged to achieve next week. :)

  • HJ - thinking of you

Sunny here, but very cold so where the sun doesn't hit (and it's so low that is a lot) the frost/ice doesn't lift.

Decided I do not need/cannot afford a BM so at least I don't need to reorganise my worktops.

First job - bit of ironing and put away yesterday's washing and airer.

soappie - I do hope you mean your bedroom has been transformed from the site of the old garage

    Morning lovelies!

We had a snow covering last night but looks to be on the melt already. Checked on rabbits and they're fine except evil rabbit ate their bed lol good rabbit is taking it all in her stride, so replenished food/water/hay.

Picked littley up from her sleepover and she's just gone out with MIL to the Metro Centre for new school trousers. Teenie still in bed and the WM is on. Plan for today is to wash, wash, and then wash some more, I've no idea where it comes from. Need to do a small food shop too for packed lunch stuff bread milk etc, plus dailies.

    laters dudettes x
