Job Offer- is it legit?

Just spoke to my mum, who conveniently works for Cleveland police! Reporting them first thing tomorrow!

I've had the same email with all the same details but a charity number on the bottom. Tried looking for the charity on the commissions site and it doesn't exist.

Did you try the charity number 1137830 ? I did (it has been given in a couple of the posts above which reprint the email (but not post #1).

If you do you will find that number is for Krisis Kids - different spelling but clearly meant to be the same thing. (See my post above.)

I wouldn't even reply. Like I said, I'm reporting them, so hjopefully no-one will get sucked in! Can't believe people would prey on innocent job-hunters! :mad:

Yes I have had the same Email offering me the vacancy. I was suspicious as the email was badly spelt and the grammar was terrible. I am supposed to ring them up between the 4th and 7th of January.
Is this definitely a scam then? does anyone know for sure please?

Just looking at the mails received by other forum users, I believe it is a scam, as the fundraiser reference numbers are the same.

Also it may help to know that the email was headed 'kenneth mckeon'

Thankyou for your email for the job as a fundraiser with ( crisis 4 kids uk). We would like you to join our team and offer you the vacancy, please call me on 07748 586572, if i am on the phone please don't leave a message try and contact me again this offer is only open for 72 hrs (only) , please contact me between the 4th of jan 2011 to 7th jan, if we do not hear from you we will uffer the job to someone else as we have had hundreds of people applying, your fundraising ref code is 058518FR, your job offer will be subjected to a CRB check and terms and conditions apply.(please only call back as requested for information do not email thanks)

Look forward to hearing from you

I believe it is, that's at least 3 of us with the same email with spelling mistakes etc.
If I were you I'd not even bother emailing back. Like I said, I'm reporting them.

If they can afford to pay people to collect for them why can't they afford

Note the selling of raffle tickets for under privelidged kids, it could be what the fund raising job being offered is for.

He could be out of jail by now.

It could be worth a call to DS Alan Own just in case it is the same guy, if it is DC Owen sounds like the type of copper who will go out of his way to get an arrest

I recieved this email yesterday. I am so !!!!ed off that some scum company would prey on innocent job seekers.

I am going to sign on at 11:05 and am going to report this so have you guys got anything I use to report it.

In addition to contacting DC Owen, I'd suggest using the form on the X Ray web page to contact them too, I'm sure they'd be interested in this.
