That's brilliant news :j Do you feel excited about it all? Sounds like you might not be too worse off financially either with the CT going down and the HB going up a bit.
So pleased for you all :TIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Thanks poles:A
I am kind of excited:o I just keep thinking of things that can go wrong:o:o On Friday night I was just obsessing that the gas+electric will go up and I can't afford it...etc etc, I also worried about the council tax (but that was fine, as when I checked it's the band below what we're on now;)) - but I'm sure the gas/elec won't be too much...we'll just have to be really careful.
I was playing about with the maps app on my phone last night - I discovered that when I drive to work now it's 1.8 miles, from the new house it's 2 miles. Yes, I have to drive whereas here I have the option of walking but 2 miles isn't much:p If I walk from here there's a direct route through all the houses so it's about a 15min walk, but to walk from the new house will be 35min (uphill!) - so not impossible.
I also checked out the girls' walk to school (as that was another worry) - the walking route shows all the shortcuts and will take 25min. Youngest dd has 2 friends about 5min w away so she'll be happy to meet them. Eldest will happily stick her ipod on and walk on her own;)
So - all the things that were worrying me are proving to be not worth worrying about:) I have the application form, with references/guarantor etc that I had to give again ready to drop to them so will take that tomorrow and hope it all goes through ok. Hopefully the landlady won't mind if we move in half term - makes it much easier for me that trying to do it in a few weeks.
The house inside is so lovely, I'm excited about that:D But then I think it's too nice for us, me with all my mis-matched furniture (mostly from Argos!). I can't wait for the girls to have a room each though....dd2 is so excited about that, it's fab.:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Shopping yesterday came to £56:eek: And that's after my £5off voucher....:o But - that included £4 on a magazine for dd1 who came along with me (we went halves though, I refused to pay that all), half price washing liquid for £6 and fabric conditioner for £1.60. I didn't need those yet but they'll last me ages. Also, c0logate mouthwash was bogof at £2.50 so got 2 of those - with dd2 having a brace I like a really good mouthwash so I know she's keeping it clean!
So, today is a lovely day - chilly - but not a cloud in the sky. My mum and stepdad are coming to do some gardening and take the piles of carp I have outside to the tip. Girls are off to have lunch at ex's so that saves me cooking...hooray:T
Money wise - I have nothing left in the spending account really...a few pounds, but I don't need anything. I do have about £7 in my purse. I put £15 of petrol in the car yesterday but will be walking to work this week - will be doing that while I can:D
MAde about £25 on ebay so far with more stuff still selling. DD2 sold the trainers I bought her for Xmas as they're too small, typical. I paid about £70 for them - they sold for £66:beer:, so after fees she's having £60, brilliant. I'm also selling my Kindle....as I bought the iPad.....:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I'm now going to justify my iPad:rotfl:
£105 birthday money, £10 in £2 coins I saved, £70 Amazon vouchers from surveys etc, £40 from Onep0ll, £75 from returning the sewing machine that I saved for, and the rest (about £30) will be made up from the sale of the Kindle - so, even though I feel really bad about buying it - really naughty:o - I haven't gone without and apart from the sewing machine money that came from saving tax credits, all of the money was extra.
We do love it:oI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

For some reason I keep missing your updates
I've not been on at work that much as we've been so busy but I usually do read when I see them.
I'm glad you're excited about the house and also because it won't cost you too much extra. It does look really lovely.
Ipad is completely justified btw......:DIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Morning ladies:)
No news on the house yet - I'm in limbo waiting to hear from them, it's rubbish:o. They wrote to my work for a reference, my friend and have to do credit checks on me as well as on my mum+dad who are my guarantors due to me getting some housing benefit. I'm sure it'll all be fine but the waiting is horrible and I'm so worried soemthing will go wrong:(
Hopefully I shall hear in the next few days - I can't do anything here until I know.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
So, a very quiet week here - I've just got the house on my mind all the time:o:o
Shopping yesterday came to £40 - just over my £37 target (as that was all that was left in the grocery acc!) - I did get a bottle of wine though as I went to my friend's mum's house last night to keep her company whilke she was dogsitting. So, I'm pleased to come in pretty much around budget this month.
I shouldn't need anything else this week - all meal planned up til Friday when I can then go shopping again and stock up.
Girls are with their dad so they got fed last night and roast today. I've just rummaged in the freezer and brought out some cooked chicken, chorizo sausage and pepper that I'll make a risotto out of later. DD2 might be off to the fair that's been here for the weekend so will give her £5 for that. DD1 went on Friday...I gavce her £5 but, bless her, she only spent £2:D
I paid their cheer club fees (last term's:o) - £50...came out of weekly spending account. I haven't needed petrol this week. DD2's school shoes were really worn down (they're not even very old - 2months maybe) - so took them to the repairer and he's reheeling and resoling them - £17:eek: But, I've used him before and they will be much stronger then, it's still cheaper than new shoes I guess.
Very tired and a bit 'flat' today - i need some good news on the house asap to cheer me up and get my motivation to clear/tidy/pack;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Raining here:( Looking at my washing on the line and can't be bothered to go get it in!
I have scrubbed one sofa though - it's cream leather and was looking grubby so have been at it with cif and a cloth - much better:D
Girls should be back soon so at least I'll have company:)I really need to sort out a new signature!0
