I'm checking Rightmove several times a day:o Zoopla just seems to have a few of the same ones, no more.Sorry you've had a rough week. I don't feel like posting when I'm fed up. I was going to Pm you tonight if I hadn't heard anything. there's a few other people I need to chase up too because I haven't heard from them. Mother hen me :rotfl:
I'm sure something will come up for rent soon. Try to put a positive spin on it and think of all the good things about moving. Lots of positive vibes coming your way and your dream house will come up soon. Have you got the zoopla and right move apps? i often have a nosey through them when I can't sleep at night
Your money situation seems good at the moment though. I would be inclined to not buy anything new and see how things pan out with the move - there's always unforeseen spends involved
You're right about the spending - I shall keep saving and see how I feel once we've moved...might not want an iPad then...thought I doubt it:rotfl: It's just a want isn't it...not a 'need':odetermined_new_ms wrote: »aw pixie glad ur back! Sorry the other house didn't turn out as you hoped x
I went mad for a couple of weeks too - consumerist escapism
- but have been giving the fiscal fast a go and have just lived out of the cupboards for 5 days so far (last time I went shopping was 10 days ago). It really does help to reign it in if you've been spending loads! Makes it all feel back in balance.
Try not to fret too much, just be pragmatic. A pound of worry never bought an ounce of anything
x
You are a very wise one:D:D I'm feeling better today...less tense and teary about the whole sitaution. The fact I've not spent money, or driven the car this week makes me feel very in control and on track. Just need a cheap weekend to finish off a good week.Keeping_Motivated wrote: »Good luck for the house hunting, I can understand why its makes you feel vulnerable but just remember if you weren't so in control moneywise this could be a lot more stressful.
You'll be ok, its a huge hassel understandable but you'll sort it and I hope it turns out to be better for all 3 of you in your new home.
Try and keep posting, it will help keep you in control and keep you focussed when there is a lot of sorting to do with the move.
Take care
You're right - I can cop with it financially...though it's a right pain in the @rse as I hadn't expected a move and the costs of it...so begrudge paying out anything:mad:
If we get a nice 3 bedroomed house then I will have 2 happy daughters in their own rooms which will definitely make a difference all round:) It will be good in the end!
Thank you all 3 of you for the kind words and support:AI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Not heard from any estate/letting agents today.
We've seen a lovely house in the next village - only 5mins away. It's nearer girls' school but that means no free coach like they get now - it's a bit of a trek to walk it though. I still want to stay in this (big) village - next to where I work and where lots of girls' friends are. I'd have to drive every day if we went there - whereas now i haven't used the car since Sunday:D I think i should just hold on for one here...thought this house is gorgeous, quite spacious and very beautifully decorated. My scruffy possessions would really stand out in there:o
I'm still cross with the agent who are selling this house - the way I found out it was sold was to come home and find the sign outside the house. When I rang my letting agent they hadn't heard a thing - so the selling agent had just come round and whacked a sign up - so polite, that:mad:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Oooh £39.35 on Onepoll - just had a few surveys and not once screnned out:beer: Hoping for a few more today. That's going in the potential iPad saving pot:rotfl:
Darn E-On's last payment went out unexpectedly today - £114:eek: They did let me know but I forgot it was now. I moved supplier and pay less each month and from the look of my app I am paying enough to more than cover my usage.
Bit of a mish mash dinner tonight - dd2 will have the Thursday usual of jacket pot, with either salmon (from freezer) or breaded chicken. I'm having last night's leftover sausage casserole (with free sausages from ex-mil) and dd1 will have leftover spag bol from Tuesday.
Tomorrow night I'm going to our local indian for a meal with a few friends from work - it's a take-your-own alcohol too, so a lovely cheap night - we can walk there in 10m, so no taxi. Girls off to their dad and he's buying them chinese. Lovely meals all round:)
I must do next week's meal plan...keeping it as low as possible. I only have £30 left in the grocery account....soneed to have a rummage in the freezer to see what we can use up.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Well that is just awful.
Good luck with the grocery spends. I have got to be really careful the next couple of months :eek:It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

Ok, here's the next meal plan:
Fri - me out, girls with their dad
Sat - chicken wraps/pittas and wedges
Sun - girls having roast at ex's
Mon - chicken chow mein, noodles, prawn crackers
Tues - meatballs, pasta and hm tom sauce
Wed - Chicken cacciatore + waffles/pasta
Thurs - Jackets/Spag bol
I have all the meat in the freezer so won't need too much - just fresh stuff and a bottle of wine for tomorrow night:beer: I'm determined to do the shopping for under £30;)I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I nearly managed under £30;) It came to £32...which is very good for me. That did include shampoo and conditioner for just over £3...so food WAS under £30:D I could have cut it right back and probably done it for £25...but I bought some donuts, choc spread, reduced hot cross bun loaf and a raisin one, oven chips - things that weren't strictly essential, but will go down well.
The curry was good on Friday night - though with that plus a bottle of wine, my tum wasn't happy yesterday and I felt rather delicate:o So I had an afternoon reading in the garden - recharging batteries:cool: I spent £11.50 on Friday night, nothing yesterday and have just done the food shopping today. DD1 went to the cinema yesterday - I paid for her ticket as she had a good school progress report come in, her dad gave her money for popcorn. DD2 went to a party, with pressies from my stash so a cheap weekend.
Girls are with ex right now, having roast lunch courtesy of his mum - saves me feeding them tonight:) If I have the energy and can be bothered I shall make a risotto for myself...otherwise it'll be toast;)
DD2 is going on a school trip this summer to Germany - the balance of £210 is due this week. Ex has said he'll pay as I've already paid £150 towards it and he never paid his half of the same trip when dd1 went 2 yrs ago. but, of course, he hasn't the money this month so will get a bit this month and then some next month...I hope so anyway. He gave me £200 maintenance yesterday and the other £100 will come this week - unfortunately that won't stay in the account long beofre I have to pay the trip.
Bedding is in the machine, will go on the line soon. I need to go and hoover upstairs and have a good tidy.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Oooooh £39.95 on Onepoll:j So close - refreshing the page everyfew mins desperately hoping for another survey tonight:D
Not quite an NSD today - I spent £3.10 in T's on a bottle of coke, pineapple and melon. DD1 stayed after school to work on some English and asked for a treat of a drink and fruit when I picked her up - so as she was good and stayed to work, I obliged;)
So had to take the car out, not a long journey to their school though. I shall walk to work the rest of this week so hopefully not use the car until the weekend.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

No, not had notice to leave yet - kind of assuming I'll get given it around the rent due date - 13th April that is. I'm checking R1ghtmove [STRIKE]obsessively[/STRIKE] regularly...but nothing in our village there, just the very lovely one but it's a trek for girls to school - too close for a free coach but quite a long walk:o
Soon, I keep telling myself. Sending positive house vibes out into the universe.....:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
