Chicken is in the oven roasting away. I'm not hungry though and doubt dd2 will want much - so all the more for dd1, who loves a good roast:p

I've meal planned up until the weekend...so my grocery spends will begin then. Here's the week's plan:

    M - Raost chicken
    T - Pasta bake with l/o chicken
    W - Me+dd1 (dd2 at a concert) - spag bol
Thurs - Jacket pots, crispy chicken+spag hoops
Fri - Chicken chow mein, noodles/rice

Girls might be at their dad's on Sat, not sure. I might do an online shop to come at the weekend - or just save the delivery charge and go there on Friday afternoon seeing as I finish work at lunchtime.
I really need to find new meal ideas for us - we really do have a very limited bank of meal that we all like. DD2 is more adventurous, but dd1 getting fussier as she gets older:o

The new notebook has been started:D I listed all my direct debits and noted in the days when HB, CB and Tax credits go in - I have some weekly, some fortnightly, some 4-weekly and wages every 28th of the month...confusing?!;)

So, each month I have £1029 going out on rent and bills. Coming in is £1112 so that covers all of the bills, with the remaining £83 to pay Next, Amazon cc and dd1's dinners. That money didn't include tax credits - out of that I use £65 a week for groceries and the remaining £100 is my weekly spends. So obviously I have a good bit to be saving...but where does it go?! I don't set aside any for car maintenance, tax or presents..I just move any money left each week into my savings account then car related stuff comes out of there - seems to work like that. I do want to use extra money to get rid of the Amazon cc and Next account - Next is on about £350 and Amazon on £500ish:eek: I did buy dd2 a camera last week on Amazon, but she gave me the £100 cash so I'll pay that into the bank tomorrow and then put it straight to the card. Next hs been creeping up slowly over the year...I must stop using it, or at least pay at once anything I buy.

I can't see me spending hardly anything this week once TCs go in on Thurs - think girls going to their dad's at the weekend, so I won't spend then. Be good to save a big chunk of my weekly £100. No-one needs clothes for a while.

Anyway, glad that's done. I have a lovely new narrow cupcake notebook that girls gave me for Xmas so might use it for meal ideas and weekly plans...keep them in one place.

I won't have you saying your diary is unpopular missy - I've already told you once that I wanted to be more like you moneywise. I enjoy reading it so please don't stop - you have been a great inspiration to me.

    Lecture over...;)

Maybe we could swap meal ideas if you're stuck. I must admit ours seem to be on the same weekly rotation. DD is getting better at trying new stuff but mainly I stick to the same stuff that I know she'll eat. Then there's the time restriction on weekdays - I like to do things I know are quite quick.

2 NSD for me this year too - 100% record already :D

Let's see who spends first then shall we?!;) I might have to buy milk tomorrow-but if I buy from my grocery account I don't count that as a spend, is that cheating?! I am strict though-I won't sneak magazines or sandwiches for work in, I only allow groceries needed at home.

No that doesn't count because it's already accounted for :D

I will be first I think....I've got a present and card that I haven't allowed for (and I can't even get it from my present or card stash because it's for a 10 year old boy eeek!)

Had to take dd2 to the doc this morning - she was sick on NY Eve when we got home and had ear ache since. She has antibiotics so hopefully it'll clear up quickly. She's off to a concert tomorrow night, her dad taking her and her friend, so has to be better for that;)

I'm really tired this morning - the wind and rain along with dd needing paracetamol and another hot water bottle to put on her ear kept me up. My darn neighbours have a DIY cable going from their satellite dish over the roof to the front of the house - the cable is not secured so it drags back and forward across the roof when it's windy - what a racket, I couldn't sleep:mad:

SO, today i just need to get the ironing done, buy a few groceries and get ready for back to school. I was meant to go and see my tutor today but I can't be bothered - I wanted to look at my work and decide what assignment to go with next but I haven't got round to it - so I shall go and see her on Friday.

I have a doc appt in the morning so I can ask about having a test for lactose intolerance. I still don't have milk, but with avoiding most dairy I don't want to be missing out on calcium - if I'm not really intolerant! I know one thing my insides don't agree with - alcohol:o

Anyway, time for another coffee to spur me on - might do the ironing now to warm me up:D

Yippee - shop+scan have credited my account with the 2nd week of treble points...so once I get next weeks points I'll be able to claim a £20 Amazon voucher:beer: So the Kindle fund will be on £46, fab;) Now if only Onepoll would give me more surveys I might be able to get the £40 from there. Right now I'm on almost £27..it's been very quiet there recently:(

I've done lots of ironing, there's still a load left but I'd had enough:o Must go through the pile as I'm sure there's stuff there that just lives in the ironing basket and isn't needed/wanted by anyone. Just having a sit down now, but I should move as starting to feel rather tired, damn wind and the cable on the roof keeping me up;)

Oooh I hope so:p Not that there's any rush - while sorting the piles of books in my room yesterday I sorted a shelf full of ones not read yet:o Some don't really appeal to me but there are a few that I want to read.
It's my birthday at the end of Feb too so if my survey money hasn't got me to £89 by then then I'm sure there'll be a few birthday pennies to go towards it:D

So, back to work tomorrow - a nice late start though:p DD2 seems to be a bit better now, that's a day of the antibiotics so hopefully she'll be a lot better in the morning too. She's been soooo looking forward to the concert, I want her to be full of beans to enjoy it:)

The only spends today were £7-odd on groceries - milk, bread, crumpets, and a couple of other bits. All from grocery account so budgetted for and won't ruin an NSD. Grocery account for Jan isn't starting til Thurs - this was the last of Dec's spends. I had extra in the grocery float account for some reason so used £7 from there.

Must get an early night - hopefully it's not so windy tonight so that bl00dy cable won't drag back and forward across the roof and keep me up:mad:
