It is...but it's also flowing out quite quickly too:o What with Christmas, DD2's school trip to Germany next year (£80 due next week), both girls in a cheerleading competition in Feb (extra £92 on top of subs of £72 which I've not paid yet), I'm feeling quite poor still!
Had a nice afternoon with dd2 in town, but it was absolutely heaving. The Christmas German market was there, it's lovely but very expensive and so busy that you can't really look at anything. We did have a nice drink in Starb*cks, she tried on trainers so knows what size she needs, swapped some faulty jeans of hers, bought dd1 a cd (she's paying me back) and treated myself to new jeans. In my defence, the decent jeans I wear are getting a bit old and faded, bought last summer. I only like Next slim leg style so when a size 8long fit me I had to buy:D (That's cos I'm a 5'4 size 10, not tall and skinny, but the jeans make me feel it!)
Just sat having a rest now before a bit of a tidy up. Ex took girls for a pizza, so got some peace for a bit. I parked out of town too so saved parking or park and ride money - was a 20min uphill walk back to the car, phew;) I rewarded myself with a bottle of mulled wine in the co-op for £3, fab:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Could have had an NSD if I didn't have to go and buy a new iron:mad: Darn thing just stopped working last night...I tried a new fuse but nothing, so had to [STRIKE]waste[/STRIKE]spend £25 on a new one.
Otherwise I've only spent £7 on ebay postage today. 2 items ended last night - one jumper selling for £42:D Very happy with that considering it cost me £20:T Must withdraw my Paypal money - I owe dd some as a few of her things have sold.
My cheque for my tax refund arrived today :beer: So I paid that in, with the cheque for £250 from the ex - hooray:) My luck didn't run as far as the lottery though...my tickets were a waste of £2:o
Dinner is on - made meatballs and tomato sauce, it smells good:D
Need to have a quick tidy up and crash out on the sofa with tv tonight.I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
So, an uneventful day here, but it has been a much needed NSD:D
I withdrew my Paypal money too - there was £89 in there:beer: I just owe dd1 £9 of it. It was more but paid for a cd at the wekeend she was desperate for so have taken that money out of it too.
Had her parents evening tonight - all very good, she's amazing and gifted at art, but hopeless at History:o She needs to buck her ideas up and do some studying out of school...she thinks what she does in school is enough, but is struggling with history. I do hate the fact that they both spend all their spare time on their laptops...I'm going to have to be unpopular and cut that I think:o
Dinner tonight is just chicken chow mein for them...I don't fancy that, might just have a couple of M+S crispbakes from the freezer.
Tomorrow I have to take dd2 to the hosp for an emergency last minute appointment - the stitches in her mouth where the chain is held in place are really bothering her...she can't wait til Jan when the brace is being fitted, hopefully they'll be able to bring that appt forward - will ask tomorrow. Girls' school is shut due to the strike...not mine though unfortunately:(
But, at least I get a lie in tomorrow as I wasn't due to work til 11.15, but have hospital appt anyway at 12:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Hope the hospital appointment goes OK. Sounds painful but I think whenever any part of your head hurts, your whole body hurtsIt's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey0

Well, dd's mouth got sorted - the orthodontist was astonished that the chain had been stitched to the inside of her lip, she cut the stitch so that made it feel much better. But, later on, dd has said the chain has felt like it's coming loose and is in the way when she eats...ggrrrrrr, cue another phone call tomorrow to the hospital:mad: I just can't keep taking time off work though, it's so frustrating, and poor dd:(
So - a busy day...I spent £2.60 on the car park at the hospital. Then dropped dd at home and went to work. dd1 was in town - I gave her £5 for lunch and she took her own money. I rushed to town after work to meet her, returned the jeans I bought on Sunday (too long) and took dd to the optician. She chose her new glasses - a very nice £85 pair that we got for nothing, bargain;) Will collect them on Tuesday,
So- a very busy day but haven't spent a lot. Time for bed now, off to read a Christmas book:beer:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Back at the darn hospital ysterday and the chain in dd's mouth is all sorted - it's been shortened so not in her way now - thank goodness:p
Had a good buy last night - saw it on the grabbit board, at store twentyone online. I bought myself a scarf £5, earrings for dd1 £4, my secret santa pressie (candle set) £5 and earmuffs for dd1 for Xmas £4 - with the codes and discounts that little pile came to just under £7:beer: Very pleased with that! I also bought girls a new bedside lamp each - lovely glass globe ones from Habitat with 20% off (which covered the delivery) - that order was £16.
Today we're off to mum's for an hour then my sis for the night - have bought a bottle of wine and coke to take.
We did the tree last night - moved furniture around and finally got it right. Very sparkly in the lounge now:T Still not finished - it'll have to wait now though.
We need food but I don't want to spend much at all until tax credit day on Thurs. My grocery account's only got a fiver in, so any spends will come from my weekly money:o Freezer has plenty of meat in, I've done a meal plan to use that so we do really only need fruit/veg and a few other fresh bits. Might get it tomorrow in M0rrison's using my mum's 10% discount card...or I might be too lazy and just come home;)
Anyway, must get goingin an hour so off to pack our overnight bags. Have a good weekend:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0
