In the Food Optimising Book, the terms and symbols are explained on pages 7-9 and superfree foods is the term used to describe foods that satisfy your appetite and are also the lowest in calories which include Fresh & Frozen fruit & vegetables
Free foods are the lean meat & poultry, fish & seafood, potatoes, pulses and starchy vegetables, rice pasta & grains, eggs, fat free dairy products, vegetable proteins eg Quorn & tofu
Speed & superspeed are terms used to describe foods that SW have listed which claim to speed or super-speed weight loss when chosen regularly.
So a food listed as superfree can also be a speed or super-speed food - and then of course you get into calcium, fibre and nutrition rich foods!! So, for example, baked beans in tomato sauce are a free food, which is nutrition rich (H), help super-speed weight loss (SS) and are fibre rich (F)!

Thank you so much for clearing this up for me, teecee. It seems odd that foods that are highly recommended to speed up weightloss don't always count as part of the third of superfrees. I must look again at my mealplans to make sure I'm covered but I can't be going too far wrong as weight is coming off steadily.:)

I think I'm going to attempt a SW take on this recipe tonight. I'll use normal lasagne sheets instead of tortillas (as much as I adore tortillas :( ), and cheddar not goats cheese as I dislike goats cheese. I'll have lots of leftovers for lunches/dinners too :)

    Green day for me:

    B - banana
L - HM SF celery soup, HM WM bread (HEB), butter (2syns)
D - mexican lasagne (2 x HEA per portion), roast spuds in olive oil with rosemary, green beans (HEB)
Snacks - apple, 2 x clementine, xmas cake (5syns), jelly (0.5syns), LF creme fraiche (1.5syns)
Drinks - coffee, water, NAS squash, fizzy water
    Exercise - 45mins at gym

    Total syns = 9

Still a few syns left so may squeeze in something else tonight

    Afternoon all,

Flat Eric - I started off doing SW on Extra Easy, but in the past couple of weeks or so, I've really struggled to find the inclination to eat as much fruit/veg that I know I should. So, now I alternate between Extra Easy and the odd Green (not done a Red day yet). The main thing you just have to remember is that at EVERY meal you have to have 1/3rd of your plate as fruit or veg. Most of the time that's quite do-able, so for b/fast it's porridge with fruit, or fruit & fibre bar with a muller/activia, etc. My son who does the plan tends to have 2 alpen lights, and 2 pieces of fruit for breakfast most days. Evening meals are quite easy to bulk out with veg in stews, or have as a side dish of veg or salad. Lunchtimes were my main stumbling block, so I was having bacon, eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes & beans most lunchtimes, and as much as I enjoy it, even that can get boring. Today I had a bowl of pasta & sauce, bulked out with some mushrooms, and with a couple of pieces of fruit & a muller after. It was very filling, and I've hopefully kept the 1/3 rule there.

I use my HeA daily with milk in my teas. I drink a lot of tea, albeit decaf, and would struggle to give it up, as I'm not keen on cold drinks. I either was having to syn my cheese if I ever had it, and left myself with very few syns for other things like olive oil or other ingredients, so I have purposefully planned in a few green days, so I can have a big baked spud with 42g of cheese and beans, with a salad on the side. It's a real treat of a meal for me, and It's lovely.

My challenge for this week will be to incorporate a red day in to my plan, to get my head used to that. The genius thing with Extra Easy is that the main things that are synned are fatty/sugary foods, that make sense to syn.

Skintslimmer - the only way to get into the zone is to put yourself there I find. It is tough when you're got other stuff going on, so I totally sympathise, but then I guess that's life, and a big reason why I decided SW was going to be the support I needed for times like that. The older you get, the more of life's 'stuff' seems to get in the way, so I need to get this eating/life thing balanced out and sorted I reckon, coz I'm sure not getting any younger!

Takeiteazy - I hope you're feeling a lot better soon.

Well I am still very undecided about what my meal plan is going to be today. I might make a SW quiche, which would be good for cold tomorrow too, oh no can't do that now, because I'm sure Master Sary has snaffled all the cottage cheese, which he loves.

I'm still thinking about that one.

Use the code called 'Forum link' or something with the word 'forum' in it. Just clicking the code will copy it, then paste it into your reply.

For the record, the link to your image is:

And you need to click the little picture icon when you make a reply and past that link into it.
