Competitions Discussion Thread Part 13

I enter a lot of competitions, but only really post the Scholastic one. If anyone who does not have time to post as much as before, or is choosing not to for various reasons, wants to pm me I will happily take over looking for comps in a few places.

There was a comp on here with one through Virgin I think and it was through NFL UK. Can't remember closing dates etc but I entered it after seeing it on here, trying searching.

If you HAVE to go to the Superbowl, I think Thomas Cook sport are doing packages, might cost about £2.5k to go, or you could pay for flights and a hotel yourself for less than a grand then the rest to try and get a ticket once out there.

Games in the states are amazing and a different thing compared to football(our kind) here or even the Wembley International Series game's, they have been like mini Superbowl's with entertainment etc, plus it's once a year so most people are absolutely wired for it, regardless of who's in it.

I'm a Dolphins fan, and don't care now who goes to the Superbowl, I've entered the comps so here's hoping I get, it would be one of those once in a lifetime experiences.

If I spot any I'll make a list and add them in one post to this board....that would help people that don't go on the regulars board and may help the BGs move them back too if that's what they decide to do?

let's hope that your kind gestures rubs off on everyone and MSE gets back to being the friendly place that it was before the civil war broke out with the heated discussions about the Regulars board

yes, but, that's up to the ops when they post them,
not everyone may remember to, it works with facebook, twitter comps as well, not everyone puts them in the title & sometimes one has to click into the link if it's not visible in the ops posting as well,
so in effect you're asking all ops to post correctly in their
titles

Yes it would be great if it could happen now with the changes to the Regulars board (start as we mean to go on)

I suppose like you say that it's up to each individual poster but I'm sure that it could be enforced much like the end dates where "E:" if so desired by the BG's however if this did happen they would need to give us more space in the thread title to allow for the changes

don't get me wrong I'm not saying that it should happen (don't want to set off any trouble again) but it would be nice if it did as it would also go some way to appease the people on the Regulars board many of whom at present are not happy with the changes

Automated click-able posting tags would be the ideal way forward like E: (daily),(weekly),(Monthly), (FB) (Twitter) etc underneath where you enter the text in your post (one click to enter them into the title bar) a bit like the smilies now

but I wouldn't hold your breath for the above to happen any-time in the near future

Well im happy with the current changes but it will have to done by the bg's and have yet to see some input regarding the decision or maybe i've missed it? (moving all the reg comps to main that have end dates and believe me there are loads!)

the suggestion of E: 31/01 (daily) makes perfect sense but it will have to done so everyone does it that style, that way there wont be a complete mess on the main, as you say just like E: 31/01 was done so we all had to follow that, but up to bg's of course as they are busy enough as it is

my only prob is the monthlies, hardly anyone sends me links to new monthly comps and only a few let me know when an expired one appears, if they send to glad for game over then i am not told, although the best way is to send a pm to both me and glad or any other bg, like a pm i got the other day, that was perfect as we are both told at same time

if a comp gets moved from regs to main, does the link change at all?
