I don't believe it

On Wednesday I purchased a Box of Biscuits to cheer my Daughter up, they were £2.40 so not cheap or reduced from ASDA on giving them to her she noticed they were 5 MONTHS out of date. I returned them the next day, to be greeted by oh we will give you a refund. If they reaction had been omg that's terrible I would have been happy, but just a oh then offering me £3 when I said I was not happy did not do it. I told them to keep their £3. They do not seem to grasp the 5 MONTHS bit, any suggestions.

  • The date is a 'Best Before' date. It's not illegal to sell a product after their best before date. They've done nothing wrong legally, but morally perhaps they have as many people do not understand Best Before dates and refuse to eat a product after the date.

Crumble the cheap things up, get some chocolate, currants and mix together to make a decent base for a cheesecake. That will put a smile on your face

    He died 10 years ago...unless it's his ghost (which I don't believe).

What exactly did you expect them to do? A full refund plus a little extra would seem to be an excellent result.

What exactly did you expect them to do, they were giving you £3 back. What did you want, panic in the store, everyone racing round checking all the dates on everything? They did all they could do, thats good customer service.

Back in the old days we didn't have sell by dates or best before dates & must have eaten buscuits that were years old. It never killed any of us & it won't kill you or your family, so no sense in trying to make it into a major incident.

If you don't want them, pass them on to me & I'll happily munch away!
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

It was a "best before" date, not a "use by" date, so although they might have tasted a bit soggy, they would have been fine, and not done you any harm.

    I would've accepted the £3!
Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
