I'm here :D My savings pattern has been quite boring lately - haven't had any windfalls and none are likely, so I'm just feeding my Regular Savers each month to the tune of £1250.

Yup. Might look for other forms of income, though, as it's a bit frustrating not being able to save much more!

    hi The Fiddler:)

i dont really think i am using any new ways, however all the tricks i used to become debt free i am now using to save:)

I do a grocery challenge each month and any leftovers go into my PMS saving, also into PMS goes and petrol savings i knock off my petrol budget by walking instead of taking the car.

I do a personal spends challenge, I give myself a set amount a week and try and live within it, it really seems to sort out the wants from the needs (this week it went on lemonade and chocolate lol...i really needed that chocolate hit:D)

I am doing the DFW Olympic challenge, trying to make extra money above my income. Selling stuff on ebay, amazon, clicking on pigsback and buying everything via quidco if i can and boots points too!

the change jar challenge is another all my change 20p or less goes in to a jar and its amazing how quickly that adds up. Also saving £2 coins with the £2 coin savers club.

I use vouchers and the odd coupon, check im getting the best price for everything i buy, and try and find things that in the long run will save me money...ie, i purchased a bike and kiddy trailer, this means that i will be able to use the car less during the week when my 3 boys are at school and i only have my daughter to take to nursery, this will have paid for itself within 3 months:)

ultimately all these things above will give me more money to save:T

    sorry for the waffle:D

Jamiedodger, you're not waffling at all, your post was v helpful for us newbies who are searching for ideas!
What's PMS? Apart from the once-a-month rage !

I'm feeling quite disheartened by my situation at the mo - trying to stay positive and clicking on everything that moves (well, almost!) even tho haven't seen much reward yet (patience I know!) but my frustration:doh:is getting the better of me. I MISS MY JOB SO BADLY  Guess I'm just feeling pretty useless, sorry x

All good ideas jamiedodger. Well I've had friends staying for the past week so have spent quite a bit. This is their main holiday but my main one is in a couple of weeks so have to budget hard next week.

    Ideas
    1. Going to eat everything in freezer and use store cupboard. Will try those websites where you enter main ingredient and they suggest a recipe.
    2. Will not use car - will walk where possible or public transport. Should be OK as not buying lots of food becuase of 1. above.
    3. Will not buy make-up - have lots of Origins free samples to use up now after their giveaway last week. ( I don't think there is a stocklist in London I haven't been to!:o). If I really must buy anything for holiday then will try to get it from Boots as i have a £10 voucher.

Thanks Jamiedodger, much appreciated. I'm usually good at baby steps but just seem to be having a little tantrum tonight lol! Maybe it's this bloody neverending freebie bingo I'm playing (to get Quidco cashback) and not winning anything! I'll resort to anything, what's a bit of pride in exchange for some cash?!:rotfl:

This thread seems quite saucy, lol! Look forward to the innuendoes x

Bike trailers only have a certain shelf life because of your children getting older, so it has the resale value to consider when you make your calculations.
