Well done Jamiedodger you're off to a good start. I've a couple of cheques to pay into my account and am pleased to say I got the promotion. It won't change my percentage saved but will certainly add to the amount saved.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000

Hi everyone,
I am getting closer to my target.
We weren't going to go on holiday this year, but my mum and dad just gave us £500 I think they would like us to go.
We are quite tempted just to save the money, but I suppose it would be nice to go away...I think we are getting quite obsessed with meeting our target!!
Anyone know of a fairly cheap way of going away for a few days/week?
I really like Cornwall but with the weather like it is at the moment!!??[0 -

I headed to Morocco this year... sounds posh and exotic (but actually cheap)! Cheap ryanair / atlas blue flights out there and very reasonable lovely accom. Only prob is not spending on all the goodies in the markets!Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!

It has been a good month for me saving wise after a couple of months of being buried in Uni work. Saved 500 in my YBS regular saver, 200 in my DD regular saver, 150 in my ISA which is now maxed out and have a spare 100 which is going into my A&L saver - just under £1000 savedDEBT FREE AND LOVING LIFE0

Hi
I'd like to join this thread, I'm in need of some serious encouragement!
I saved £11,000 for 'The Big Trip' but became very ill just before I was due to go. Throughout my illness over the past 2 years I've been keeping myself going with the thought of making it one day. The plan was put back by another year recently (so my boyfriend could save his share) 'til summer 2009. However, I've just worked out that, although I've hung onto a big chunk of those savings, by the time we're due to go I'll only have about £1500 left. AARRRGGGGHHHHH! Our original budget was 8 grand for the year-long trip and now we are both heartbroken (myself especially) at the thought that it might slip from my grasp again...
I've been waiting 12 years so far (for various reasons) and I've never given up hope! Please help me to see the light at the end of the tunnel again.
Thanks and happy saving!
ps without wishing to sound dumb, can someone please tell me how I go about putting totals etc on the bottom of my messages??The 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

Good luck with the saving - at least you still have some left! Are you trying to save £8k each or £8k between you?
