Unfortunately my now fiancee has developed incurable cancer. Money will go to a wedding and the house she always wanted. Makes me realise money isn't everything and don't waste the day - use it toward something you want before it's too late.

I too am sorry to hear this. Thank you for sharing something so personal I found this helpful in regaining some perspective. I wish you both well in enjoying and making the most of what you both have left. Take care.x

    April payday update!

I saved £1,141 in April - that's £4,445 so far in 2017 and £113,567 overall. Sometimes I imagine how much higher that figure would be if interest rates hadn't been at rock bottom for the last 8 years, but I feel proud that I'm still able to save at a good rate.

Just cash savings. I don't include pensions at all. I'm lucky in that I have a final salary pension at work.

Well done Tara and Kittenkicks!!! You are both doing amazingly well!

I'm just off the starting block as far as savings go. I have joined the save 12k thread.

In May I managed to save £850.

I include money I send to my personal pension, but not my works pension. It also includes money sent to my S&S Isa, P2P and a regular saver.

    Total savings end of May:

    £4534.85
