I would like to join in. I am 21 and in my 2nd year of university.
Currently have £12,000 in savings.
These are my goals that I have been working from:
YEAR 0 - 20th August 2012 - £8000.00....................... ACHIEVED
YEAR 1 - 20th August 2013 - £14,000.00.................... ON TRACK
YEAR 2 - 20th August 2014 - £21,000.00....................
YEAR 3 - 20th August 2015 - £31,500.00....................
YEAR 4 - 20th August 2016 - £47,250.00....................
YEAR 5 - 20th August 2017 - £70,875.00....................
As soon as I graduate I am buying a house with my girlfriend and will be renovating it as I have experience in doing this and good contacts. I currently get paid £12,000.00 a year working on a sponsored degree but in August 2014 hoping I will be earning £22,000-£26,000 and make lots of money on the house we develop0 -

Thanks for pointing that useful information. I thought I went back to first few posts and my jaw literally dropped to the floor about the rates I seen. Shame that time is over forever...

Its a very good habit to get into. When you get a fulltime job, its the same with regards to the pension etc. Dont just take all the payrise, but also increase what goes into your pension. :money:0 -

Not been here for a while, looks like I will only be able to save £150 this month, going away for bank holiday etc and need to buy a new tent. Anyway £150 is better than nowt.
Hope everyone is still saving although I started with zeal i can feel a little saving fatigue kicking in. Still on target though.Regular saver £200 Saving for emergency fund (£2000)
ISA £30 Saving for new clothes/ new laptop (£1000)0 -
I am 27 with only a months savings. I am having a mini crisis because people my age should be financiall "settled". I've had to move flat, change job and went travelling. Then it is my sister's wedding.
After that I think I can start saving £500 each month, the end of the year I will hopefully have £5000
Any money I save above this will be a holiday treat for myself!0 -

I didn't update at the end of March (was so busy), so I've just done my end of April total. I have £67,530 saved - a total of £3,259 in March and April! I've been super disciplined the last 2 months - no unnecessary spending at all - and it's really paid off.
I'm on track to exceed my £13,000 target for 2013, I've saved £5,330 in the first 4 months

£1000 saved in cash ISA (Santander)
£1000 saved in a stocks & shares ISA (rplan)
My stocks and shares has brought a g.ood return so far so going to continue to add to both monthly and see how it goes.
Hoping to achieve this by the end of next year but you know what life is like!0
