    Hello all

I haven't updated for a long time but I have been keeping up.

I had a target of £2500 for the year and I have smashed it. I have £8932.49 so I have moved my target to £10000 which I will hopefully reach by end of the year

Hey guys thought i would update you on my savings. I achieved my original target to get to £15,000 by the end of this year last month. So i chose to give myself challenge and aim to get to £18,000. I am at about £16,700 atm. It will be difficult! If i have a good next month i should be able to achieve it as i can't really see myself saving too much in December.
  • Hi All
I am aiming for 10K by the end of the year. Currently have £7200 divided between an ISA and my Offset savings account.

Just updated sig and now have £6k squirreled away. I have booked a holiday for next summer so will have to save up too for that but continuing to be thrifty and frugal and find that everything helps.

I have been baking my own bread in the remoska since easter and worked out it costs us around £3 a week for bread so is a significant saving as bread is now over £1 a loaf and there are 4 of us and we all have pack ups for work and school.

I've just picked 3lbs berries out of the garden too and made 7 jars of jam so very pleased about that and continuing to stock up on cheap tins etc when I see a bargain.

Keep up the good work everyone, some excellent achievements on this thread, very heartening to read :)

Hi, my first post on this thread.

I'm trying to save as much as poss to get the mortgage paid of asap. I do post sometimes on the MFW board, but don't really have enough to say to do my own diary!

We've got enough in savings now, so what we were saving we're now diverting to the mortgage. In recent months I've rejigged our finances a bit and we're a bit better off each month as well. So this month I'm hoping to have the £400 a month we used to save, £100 overpayment saving that we've always done and I reckon i can syphon off £300 from the joint account once the bills have all gone out. £800 per month is pretty good going I think!

If i can be consistent with that then we should be mortgage free in around 6 years. Obviously rates will change, certain living costs will increase etc, but chipping away, saving every little bit, will always make a difference no matter what.

Ooh, almost forgot, got £200ish in my £2 coin jar too!

Was on the right tracks, but ive looked deeply into matched betting and "gambling" and im going to attempt it for 1 month only

instead of saving my 500 this month, im punting it into betfair - and only going for a target to double my money - thats it.

If it fails - oh well, only 1 months saving, only 18 once, why not try it. Will be extreamly careful and taking advice from excellent people on betfair.

Il update on 30th November on how much i made or lost.!

a week later im upto £793.62 so about a 60% profit!

just need it to continue and keeo money saving
