The ISA total has finally moved a little! I got £10.93 interest for this month so I've arranged a small transfer to round it up to £4,940 so I'll only be £60 away from getting back to the £5k point then. Slight progress, and that should happen in the next month hopefully. Still nowhere near where I'd hoped to be at this point, but then I did take the best part of £1k out for the vet bills.

Seems like a lot of us aren't saving as much at the moment! At least we've got this thread to stop us beating ourselves up about it!
ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)

It sounds a lot, I know but it quickly mounts up. She needed an ultrasound, lots of medication, an overnight stay on a drip in the out-of-hours vets (which is extortionate!) and another day stay in the actual vets so you can probably see how it added up by the time we had to call it a day.

    Hello can I join in?

I've got the equity from my house sale safely stashed away, and am about to rent somewhere for a year or two. In that time, I'd like to add £20,000 to my original savings, but I know it will be tight whilst paying the rent.

I think if I join something like this it will give me the motivation I need!!! :D
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel.

Welcome! It's great motivation on this board, especially if your savings total gets stuck as many of us seem to be finding! I opened a santander first home saver last month so that I should save at least £100 every month or I lose interest. I thought that was a good way to ensure the savings keep moving every month.

And speaking of money OCD I just added £60 to my ISA to bring my overall total to £1700! Glad it's not just me :rotfl:. Also paid £30 off my next account which I didn't reallised I had even signed up for, I just wanted to buy some boots from their website  .

Just booked a campsite for 3 nights over bank holiday weekend in Dorset for £45 with the OH and dog. Bargain! It will be my first camping holiday (that's not a festival) :o

It was really bugging me so I've arranged to transfer the £60 that was supposed to be going into the "semi-regular expenses" fund into the ISA instead, which will take it back to the £5k that was originally in there. The other account is doing ok and there are no big outgoings (just had eye test and new glasses and didn't need any dental work at my recent check-up) on the horizon so I'm taking the chance. I'm updating my sig even though the money isn't actually in my ISA yet.

    Hi everyone,

Havent been on here for a while, have been very busy with work and loads of birthdays and bbqs recently, not complaining thou - i've had my fill of sausages and burgers! :D

Just a little update from me - the total is now at £19,421.59 and i still have the £2,500 in a seperate account to go towards fees etc.
