Aww danni that's really mean I don't think they should be doing that while your account shouyld be being investigated!
Just phone them seriously, I used to hate calling companies but they obviously need to sort this out for u asap as the stress isn't fair!
I really hope this doesn't put you off saving thoughmaybe just move banks when the whole thing is done with?

I really don't think i could go through starting from the begining again . . . it was really easy saving once you have so much.
i wanted to move out with at least £10k, which would have been end of this months wage , and anything more would be even better for my savings0 -
Congrat Driving_Soon:T good luck with your 2010 targets!!!
minidannii sorry to hear that the situation has not been resolved yet. my advice is to follow what LuckytheDwarf said and to pester them, eventually you'd get thru to a gem. its amazing how many people dont know their companies policys on these situations and an individuals work ethic in the matter e.g. one person would say " okay its will take one month to sort this" and then leave it there whereas someone else may say the same but be pro-active about and follow the structure the comapny has for this situation.....i have worked with both type of people ...in the same company!!! so it is definitaly worth pestering them and speaking to as many people as possible.
Also what i would do is record the name of the person i speak to and what they have advised me, that way i would have record of all the people i have spoken to and what each person has said to me and then time i call i would say " i spoke to X last week and was told........" something alone those lines. eventually if i were getting nowhere i would ask to speak to a team leader / supervisor and say something like " i spoke to X, Y and Z on (dd/mm/yy) and was told.......however its now been x weeks and nothing seems to have been done, could clearify how far you are in investigating this and how much longer i would need to wait and in the meantime please can you advice what i am suppose to do re account/charges/overdraft etc" . Recording this info is also good if you are told to write a letter - then u will be able to list all the info given to you by everyone you spoke to especially if any contradicting or completely different info was given.
i know it a pain to have to go thru all this to get back your own money but when you get it back it will be worth it.
sorry for the long post - please note i am not an expert in the area and this is just my opinion and what i would do if i were in you position.
hope that helps:ALosing (lbs) for ........a healthier future.......:)Saving (£) for.........a secure future.......:)

thanks, i feel its my own fault for putting my bank numbers on a site that saves them, but like someone said, it was the bank that authurised the transactions0 -

Ok i managed to save £9000 by working everyday of the week except thursdays, so tomorrow is my day of. I am thinking it will be best to wait till tomorrow morning phone first thing, i mean i phoned on the 30th later on in the day, maybe be the first to phone and its fresh in their minds ?
anyway i found this interesting on the bit that comes with your new debit card it says
your debit card is:
welcome at home and abroad
flexiable enough to be used everyday and larger one of items
safer and more convenient than carrying cash and protected against fraud loss0 -

Don't worry - I'm sure you won't have to start over.
Call them first thing - then again after lunch to see how it's going. I'm serious. Fight, fight, fight. If they fight against you instead of for you, then you'll be writing a letter of complaint asking for compensation for the hassle of being without money for several weeks, for stress, and the loss of time where you've had to chase them. Tell them you are not paying charges for being overdrawn, as it is not you who has withdrawn the money - they will reverse these for you. Remind them of their promise to protect you against fraud. You don't have to be rude about it, stay as calm and as polite as possible even though it's difficult in these situations!
Also, for when you get your money back, open an instant access savings account. Get the best rate possible (I'm going to apply for AA's tonight). Work out your average monthly spend, by taking a look through your bank statements and see how much you've paid out over the last 10 months to a year, take an average, then add £100. This is the amount you should leave in your current account - your monthly spend plus a "buffer" amount in case you go over. Every time you get paid, transfer any money above this amount out of your current account into your savings account. Use online banking to check your balance once or twice a week - you can always transfer an extra £100 in from your savings account if you think you might run out.
This way the majority of your money will then be kept safely away and it will be earning you money - it's less likely to be stolen, because there isn't the weakness of the account payment functionality.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

Out of interest - does anyone have AA membership? I have a membership number but it's in the incorrect format, apparently. I haven't received my card yet as I only purchased it recently. The website says 16 digits with spaces. Mine has 16 digits, but it has too many spaces, as the number doesn't fit in the box. Taking out the spaces doesn't work either. Any clues?Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012
