Yes i do glad i can transfer my money i am opening a reg saver soon filling the last few hundred in my ISA then i will be working on it. Would you open a 3.5% fixed 1 year web saver with a £1000 or wait until the next ISA year and put it in there. Do you think the interest rates are going to be getting lower?
I do use the clubcard deals have 10% discount which helps too. I thought about the magazine subscription for me even though at the moment i can read magazines for free and return them after my break, but never thought about it as a present for my friends that a good idea. If not i might use the double up scheme and maybe buy some perfumes for my friends that way.
I am going to look in the sales i try to buy at online shops or catologues as when i am let loose in town i go mad haha lol. There is too much temptation so i try and avoid actual shops if i go online shopping i tend to just look for what i want. I am quite good at opening the store cards for the discount then paying the bill off in full too a trick my mum taught me. Wouldn't advise it if your not 100% sure you can pay off the bill though.:j19 and saving for a car as a 21st Birthday present to myself!:j£7200/£9000 77% there!1 premium bond win £25

Yes ritcus your so right why waste all that money going out all the time when you can save it and make money on your money rather than put it in someone elses pocket. The more i save now the easier my life will be when im older thats the way i look at it. I want all the nice things in life like cars and a house and not have to worry about how i will be able to afford it with massive loans i might not be able to pay back.:j19 and saving for a car as a 21st Birthday present to myself!:j£7200/£9000 77% there!

Exactly the same as me, i know where you are coming from. Im away to get myself a nice little(when i say little i mean 1.8 litre bmw, insurance almost 2k a year)bmw next year hopefully. Im hoping to save up £6000 then buy it and pay the years insurance at once, the car will probs be about £3000(simular ones advertised now for £3500. So £5000 on the car and £1000 emergancy fund. I would spend more on getting a newer better bmw but it would take me alot longer to save up the amount i would need. I get a payrise in the summer, from a basic take home of £1060 to £1375 so with overtime looking at £1500 a month income when my outgoings are less than £300 a month. I love working things like that out. Would be brilliant if i could save £1000 a month after summer when il be 19. Seems alot.Work in progress...Update coming July 2012.

I'm another one would rather save and it helps that most of my friends are happily coupled up and aren't really interested in lots of nights out so I can save money that way. I've never really been big on spending heavily, which is just as well considering that my income fluctuates all over the place! I can't help but feel awfully pleased with myself when I add something to the savings, even if it's only a minimal amount!
I'm 22 and none of my friends have anything saved up. Most are in debt actually and don't seem to have given saving a second thought so no idea what they'd do if an emergency cropped up as they have nothing to fall back on at all. I love the idea that I do and wouldn't need to get straight into debt.ISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Yes thats good wish i was getting a payrise lol. I want a white VW Scirocco the thing is they have only just come out last year so when im 21 the oldest i can get is only 3 years old which isnt that old which is why there is such a big price tag unfortunately for me. I am so in love with them though lol there is a man who comes in my shop every morning and when he parks his scirocco in the car park i think thats going to be me soon lol. Sad i know. God knows how much insurance is going to be for that. I know that would be good you would be on £12,000 savings a year plus interest. I remember when i found it hard to save £50 a month now that is nothing £500 is a minimum for me.:j19 and saving for a car as a 21st Birthday present to myself!:j£7200/£9000 77% there!

I know what you mean dippykitty it so much better knowing you have something there no matter what happens to fall back on. I would hate to be in debt i would be constantly worrying what if this happens or that happens and i can't pay it back. I am a worrier though. But knowing that you have a nice security blanket to fall back on rather than worrying about what will happen if you get made redundant because its not something rare to get made redundant these days. Most of my friends are coupled up too, and it does help. I haven't always been such a good saver though a few years back while i was doing my a-levels i used to spend all my money on stupid things like £400 on a handbag and new clothes every single week, and i look back and think omg i could be £400 closer to my goal now but owel. It made me happy at the time and now i know better. Everyone thought id be the first in debt in my family and now i have completely turned my self around and they are proud of my even though they don't know the exact figures.:j19 and saving for a car as a 21st Birthday present to myself!:j£7200/£9000 77% there!

My thoughts precisely. I hate owing a tenner to a mate so I'd never cope with being in debt! It's great that you've turned yourself around like that and you should be really proud of thatISA savings: £25,139 Other Savings: £1750 (tied up in bond)0 -
Well at 18th birthday parties and out and about noone seems to realise just how much they are spending when they pop up to the bar three or four times an hour, i do have the odd nights out for parties etc but alot of the time id rather just watch at dvd at home with my other half, saving money while having fun at the same time
Iv got a set budget of £100 for everyones presents at xmas, not going to go over that, its over rated in my opinion, and it doesnt appeal now im 18 and theres noone younger than me that lives here. Im really aiming at £500 a month aswel on an income of £1060 a month with absolute no overtime(always do some
) Doubt very much my van will get through its mot in March without alot, not going to bother putting it into get a quote just going to sell it as spares. So alot of what i save now will be going on a car then. Dont know what to do about getting a new car, dont want to buy a banger, would have enough for a deposit if i was to go and see about getting one on finance. Only thing is my credit rating really is shot to pieces so might have to get someone else to get it. Like my mum get it in her name and i pay it, registar the car in her name but my insurance obviously, im a big believer people who "front" should be banned.

Yeah staying in with a dvd is much better idea especially now its getting cold, omg i sound like a 88 year old not an 18 year old lol. I generally just go on special occasions like birthdays and leaving do's ect. Usually not more than twice a month. £100 is my limit for xmas. Xmas is so overated i am definitely not going out especially on new years eve to clubs charging £30 just to get in. No thanks lol. I always end up doing overtime too, my problem is i can't say no people tell me they can pratically see me adding up the extra hours and the pound signs in my eyes lol. I don't know what to suggest about the car, i have a small clio which is putting me on until i have saved enough for a better car, also insurance is low and since i have only recently passed if i crash it wont be too expensive to repair compared to a more expensive car.:j19 and saving for a car as a 21st Birthday present to myself!:j£7200/£9000 77% there!
