£2.6k every 4 weeks! Thats amazing!!!

My new job, I have recieved my first payslip. I cannot wait now!!! Should get the money next week. £3115.20! Sign on bonus is most of that.

Not sure how much I am going to save, waiting for my budget to realign itself to what I will be spending each month.

Good Morning guys. I had better join you as peeps here have already started the journey I want to undertake. I hope you dont mind?

Ill start of with a bit of history about myself. I joined this site with the present monika whilst in debt to the tune of between £25k to £30k. After a bit of this and a bit of that, I finally went debt free on the 2nd June 09, by using some of my savings to pay of my debts. Now I am debt free my goal is to save £100,000 which will allow me to take time off my full time work to concentrate on my part time business. I have set a goal for Dec 09 for this to happen.

At the Moment I have about £11k in savings. I plan to get to £100k by saving all of my salary, paid £2.6k 4 weekly, whilst both leaving on, and saving my part time business income.

I hope mixing ideas with like minded peeps will propel me to what on face value appears to be an improbable goal, but that which I strongly believe I will achieve.

Let me get this right. You have £11k savings and you want to grow this to £100k by December, five months away? According to my sums, that means you need to save nearly £18,000 a month, yet your income is £2600 every four weeks?

This part time business must be raking it in!

My belief is one has to set a date for ones goal. I will revise if need be.

    1st Update:
    14,037: Isa
9,430: halifax (hoping to move soon but need to find time to get into the branch after my holiday)
    1,000: easy access

    24,467: total
    40,000: target
    15,533: required (30june 2011)
    £647.21/mth: required

I'm going on holiday tomorrow which is all paid for and all spending money purchased so won't impact my savings.
I've just had a good month clearing out my quidco account and interest on halifax guaranteed and reg savers accounts maturing.
It will be tough trying to reach target but hopefully with a bit of interest etc I can get cloase at least.

    Good luck to everyone.

    * Savings Update - June 2009 *

Sorry Its a bit late but non the less heres the report and Its not a very goood one for this month. I have only managed to bank £400 becuase my mum has had to borrow £350 off me to pay off the summer holiday for herself which is fine by me so that will come back soon, plus I am getting around £230 back due to the cancellation of the MJ concerts, (Tickets and Travel and Hotel refunds) so I have due to get some money in. However after 6 months of the year I am well ahead of the £10,000 target and probably may well get it done by the end of October and I could start on 2010's Target early!!! lol

    The Percentage Has Been Updated.
Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE

Well folks my offer on the property has been accepted. :jStill in a state of shock. Going to try not to touch my ISAs and Shares and work on building up cash savings again. I like to have 3 months salary saved as a fall back.
I suppose the next thing will be joining the Mortgage free Board. Gulp!

Savings have taken a battering this month. £122 on a new passport and driving licence, £37 on train fares to London and back, so it's all really adding up.

Withdrawn some from my short term savings. So ISA is ok, but I'm on £3,600 in my short term savings ready to go in my ISA in October, which I reeeeaaaally don't want to touch before then, but it isn't looking good for that!

Ah well, hope you're all achieving your goals!
