    Hi

We saved £70 today on home insurance by switching from Direct Line to Tesco, it has exactly the same cover.

Why don't you actually go and put that £10 in your savings account....so that you have started your savings! It would be in sainsburys pocket by now if you hadnt stopped yourself so save it now before you spend it on something else!

Just a tip : https://www.find-dvd.co.uk is a search engine just for dvds and you can save some pennies on there by getting the cheapest!

    :T

    Brilliant

I did alot of sifting this month too.
Stopped total film rental £9.99 per month
Switched my gold current account to free classic current account (didn't use the perks) £10.00 per month
Stopped my subscription to Weight Watchers £9.99 per month
In March I'll stop my BT account at my parents, had to keep it up for a year, so still paying saving £38.00 a month.

Bloke and I are putting out monthly savings from cutting these costs into a joint high interest savings account for a Holiday.

Thanks to me telling him about Quidco he is saving on his contact lenses
We're doing food shopping online, we've managed to cut the bill in half

Be interesting to see how much we make, but the forecast shows that we may have enough for 10 days in the Canaries.

I would put it into the savings account too, that way you won't be tempted tomorrow, it will motivate you too.

Well done JamTart, good suggestion. :p

In order to feel a further benefit from making a saving on the home insurance I will put the £70 saving into things that will give me a future benefit. So I'll add £20 to Morrison's saver stamps and an extra £50 into the Xmas '07 savings account. So, overall I am spending what it would have cost to go with the renewal with Direct Line which was already budgeted for anyway.

  • Ok, we’ve talked a lot about this over a few threads. I think here are some realistic goals which we could all achieve.
