I am 1 of the fortunate ones that have had no trouble with transfers when transferring my cash. whenever I do a transfer it takes the usual 2 working days to arrive which is fair enough and I dont mind waiting 2 days since I am in no real rush.
@ Lenny - Best of luck in saving the £50,000 It takes a lot of time to save that amount of money and by your target your going to need to save something like £900 a month by the target date.Had £80,000 in Savings - All GONE!!! BYE BYE:A Single, 27, Aspie, Gooner :A0 -

I know I've set ourselves quite a high target. I did pick the target date out of the sky so it isn't set in stone. It's going to be tough but I'm up for the challenge. I think we'll need to have a bit of luck here and there but we can do it!Save £6k in 2015 - Jan £5000 -

I've had my hissy fit and decided i'll live without faster payments, as I have managed to do so until now.....
My isa is with Icesave and I keep on thinking I should get a bit worried about my money disapearing in one of those Icelandic geysers but I just can't get the excitement going for it! I'm staying put and if it does go under it will be an experience finding out how the whole repayment thing works! Anyone else equally as unexcited by the whole situation as I am?
In the meantime i'm going to go and spend money I should be saving as i'm going away for a few days! Hurrah!0 -

It's a nice feeling, earning 6.55% in a bank where one's money is just as safe as any other UK bank, isn't it?
Yes, thank you for your concern. I telephoned Halifax earlier, spoke to a very helpful and friendly chap called Daniel, who sorted it out for me. For some reason, though Halifax had received the money, it had gone to some clearing account, but they've now moved it back to my account, and the interest will be backdated to the day it should have arrived.
So, in the remote chance that Helpful Daniel from Halifax (who helped Lucy get her money back earlier) is reading this, thank you!Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012

I am one of the thousands of unfortunate savers with ICE SAVE and I have been on the phone to them twice today. They told me that the media were
making things worse and as far as they were concerned savings were still safe and ICE Save was still operating although no deposits or withdrawals were possible. So my question is I acted yesterday and sent off the necessary documents to make my account joint adding my daughter as an account holder. This is because I have over the £50,000 deposited on a 12 month fixed term the doesn't mature until next year. Will they make this amendment? if they say the bank is still operating i cannot see any reason why not. This would then give me up to £100,000 compensation.0 -
You're posting in the wrong place really. There are quite a few Icesave threads - but I can also see why you'd want to avoid them!
I sympathise with your predicament. I would imagine that the amendment would be made, as like you say, the bank is still operational.
Good luck, and keep your chin up.Target Cash Net Worth: £25K by January 2012
